Two words come to mind when I think of my Pain colleagues: Humble gratitude. I'm never more inspired than when I'm scrolling through my linked-in feed and seeing how pain physicians have dedicated their careers to improving the quality of life for others.

I’ve never really understood LinkedIn as social media. Who is all the posturing for? Do patients actually look at it?

Its more about jockeying with the other docs and getting attn from the companies. I do like seeing some of the cases posted though.

Don’t know about others but cynicism and jade defines me these days, especially after I finish a new patient encounter and the patient asks me one last question, and I brace for the inevitable “can you fill out my disability paperwork?”
