Mine are rosettes.

If you feel the need for this to be pharmacy related, we can discuss how cooking skills correspond to compounding skills.

None of those pictured are home made. The best commercial cookies ever made were Malomars:

They are not always available. The best homemade cookies are my wifes chocolate chip cookies. No wonder I've gained 40 pounds since we married.

oatmeal chocolate chip...mmmmmm

Those are simply illustrative, since not many people know what a rosette looks like. 🙂

I've never had Mallomars. Maybe we will get some in IA this winter.

gooey chocolate chip and walnut.

The best homemade cookies are a no-bake chocolate-peanut butter-oatmeal heavenly goodness drop cookie.

I haven't had them since before my son was born since he's nut-allergic. Oh how I crave these cookies!!

Chocolate dipped coconut macaroons 😉

I guess as a drug rep, you have a plenty time to bake them and deliver to physician offices and hospitals! :meanie:

care to post the recipe? I think I'll make those for myself and my boyfriend.

I bake when I'm stressed. he's already started putting in requests for finals time.

I make some AWESOME pumpkin cookies that taste sort of like muffin tops (you know, the good soft part of the muffin on top) and are all kinds of awesome. I still prefer choc chip though

I make a mean oatmeal-dried cherry-chocolate chunk cookie. Or snickerdoodles. Or gingersnaps. I guess I make a lot of cookies in the cold winter months  My coworkers don't seem to complain though. Winter is fast approaching. . .We may get flurries tonight.

The pumpkin cookies sound delicious!! The oatmeal/PB/chocolate cookies are soooo easy to make.

1 stick butter
2 cups sugar
1/3 cup cocoa powder
1/3 cup peanut butter (smooth or chunky - I prefer smooth)
1/2 cup milk

Mix all of the above in a heavy pot and bring to a rolling boil, stirring constantly so bottom doesn't scorch (the heavy pot helps with this too). Boil for 1 minute. Remove from heat and stir in 3 cups rolled oats.

Drop by spoonfuls onto waxed paper and allow to set.

Enjoy this delicious heavenly goodness! My mom and grandmother made these when I was a kid, and they were my favorites. They never lasted long in my house when I used to make them either.

ooh thank you thank you!

I'll make those when I finish moving into my new place - I'll have to let you know how they turn out.

I'll post the pumpkin cookie recipe when I find it. so tasty!

For those of you who like chewy cookies, here's a secret ingredient to add when you're whipping up the butter and sugar: a package of instant vanilla pudding mix. It makes the best chewy chocolate chip cookies 😉

By the way... on the recipe I posted, it's 1/3 cup of milk (not 1/2). I recommend using quick oats in the recipe (not instant...)

I found a peanut butter alternative that is nut free - sunflower seed butter (called sunbutter). I made the cookies with that. They taste pretty good, but slightly different than with real peanut butter. My son didn't really like them though.

The kind I buy from Ray's bakery down the street. Because they taste better. Homemade cookies suck. And, no, I don't care if you are Martha Stewart, your cookies don't taste as good as ones made on professional equipment by a professional....but I guess you get brownie points for trying.

lol...you say that because you haven't tried theeeeeeeese 😉

And what are you talking about? Store bought cookies never compare to homemade. And btw...homemade doesn't mean pre-made dough in a tub/log that you pop in the oven. That's nasty.

No, I probably mean the ones you make. Silicone baking mats, whole butter and all....

One of my peoples sent me a Christmas card from this site. Most people know better....but I give this person a pass....these are hilarious.

And what if the recipes are from fam's bakery? Still wouldn't try'em?

Homemade cookies CAN suck. I once had a neighbor kid who came over with a cookie jar and begged me to take as many of the cookie his mom had just baked as I could. They were overdone and she had to have seriously mismeasured her ingredients. The closest description I can come up with is burned dirt.

If someone knows what they are doing and has a good recipe they can compete with or beat many bakery cookies. It depends on the recipe and execution. Many home bakers are sloppy with the ingredients and don't understand what aspects of a particular recipe a big difference in product outcome. Knowing the nuances of production takes experience, which commercial bakers tend to have. But, they may be handicapped by other things like the need to use electric mixers to incorporate flour (tougher cookies than small-scale skilled hand mixing) or the need for a recipe that is geared for mass production.

It's Christmas cookie time again! What should I make?

German coconut macaroons, Hawaiian oatmeal cookies, Pumpkin chocolate chip cookies, Caramel apple cookies, Buttermilk Brownies, Decadent double fudge cookies, Peanut butter 'n brickle cookies...

Right now I'm making chocolate hazelnut pizzelle.

And what are y'all baking this year?

I bolded the two that I'd like. I'll PM you my address... :meanie: j/k! 😀

I used to bake for my mom, but I haven't baked anything since I came to the US. Will do a LOT of experimenting with my oven once I get a place I can call my own.

One of the few cookies I've made is Wilton's* cookie recipe. It's not very good. But for Christmas, it's fruitcakes (not cookies) I crave. Not the nasty American kind synonymous with all that's wrong with the holidays, but the traditional English kind. Heavenly.

Actually, these are probably my favorites when it comes to "cookie bars."

I might even use the recipe from the website I found this picture, since the above is vegan (but for the rest of you non-vegan types, I recommend the recipe on the back of the Eagle Brand condensed milk can 👍 ).

I haven't made cookies in a while. I've been making cupcakes a lot lately. Pumpkin Chocolate Chip 😉, Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip, and Apricot-Glazed Almond, all from Vegan Cupcakes Take Over the World. And, before anyone knocks my vegan cupcakes, I swear...these are the tastiest cupcakes, and my non-vegan pals didn't even know the cupcakes were vegan until I told them they were. Just read the reviews from the link. 😉
