What is YOUR number one school?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Pauk the carrrrr in Hauvad Yaud, etc....
Substitute h's for your u's and save all those r's for words that don't need them, such as idea (idear). If you're wondering where to take the h's from, you can steal them from the beginning of any word with a u vowel such as humor (yuma) or huge (yuge). Half my family's from that area (smacks head).

Anyhow, mine are Brown (woohoo Rhode Island) or Dartmouth or UVM.

Brown, Columbia, Dartmouth. I'm allowed to dream, right? 😳

I have a few years before I apply but I'd like to remain a gator, so University of Florida for me. 🙂

I am so glad that only one person mentioned Penn... If they grace me with their presence, I will go...

Mayo is awesome and they have the best Gastroenterology program

UCLA WOOT! Gotta love my alma mater...

Got to actually step foot on the campuses first, but Northwestern (on the water, coolest part of Chicago, imo) and Brown (Providence looks sick, in a good way). Also, every one of the other 16 schools I applied to look like #1's at this point.

Hehe, just wait till after the interviews, I think Penn will get more love post interview from a lot of people. I think you have a great shot there!

ha...thanks for the tip...I've never been to boston

Add me to that list of mayo fans! I really like loyola too. But really if anyone outside of my state schools take me, I'll be ecstatic.

University of Michigan baby! Go blue! (umm...I'd probably go to Yale or Cornell first if either accepted me, but hey, can't put all your eggs in one basket 😉)

Upenn or Wustl (though I'll be lucky to even think about making it in, lol). But they're my dream schools and I can dream right? (Until my results come out, lol)

Realistically speaking, I'd be pleased to make it to a state college like Penn State or UC Denver (Penn State because I love pennsylvania and UC Denver because I dreamed I made it there without even having heard of that college ==").

But if I make it to ANY medical school with my 30Q, I'll happily accept whatever medical school I get. I mean with that low of a score (plus having completed my undergraduate studies at a foreign college), I'll be lucky to have even made it to any colleges.

Cornell or NYU or Mt. Sinai or COlumbia.. they are all tied for first place. dont care which. will sell my soul for any of them

looks like you have no soul? jk, congrats on your top choice! (old news i know)

Oh my top choices are tied: NYU, Columbia, Cornell, Mt.Sinai, U of C, Northwestern

UCLA/UCD/UCI...any state school love would make me happy. especially since UCSD and UCSF already rejected me 🙁

ask this question tomorrow evening and you may get some different answers 😀

for what its worth... IU

harvard but i can keep dreaming right. Any cali schools because id like to stay close to family but i can move.

I wonder why harvard hasn't showed up in this thread yet.

Because the OP said to disregard rankings. In all honesty, everyone I have dealt with at harvard have been extremely rude/curt and generally seemed to expect me to bend over backwards for them.

Duke is the #1 among the schools that I've been interviewed at so far. Nice faculty, nice student, nice environment.

I think it's interesting that this thread is from a year ago, so we can see where many of the people who posted here last year are actually going now!

My shortlist is looking like this:
Baylor
Mayo
Yale
Vanderbilt
Emory

But there are a bunch of really great schools on my list, I would feel lucky to go to any of them =)

Any Medical school that will accept me in the Chicagoland area

Buffalo. That's right. Hometown loyalty. Downstate after that. Cant F with Brooklyn. Nets 2011!:claps::banana::claps:

i'd love to go to

Hopkins
Mayo
MSSM
NYU

if not, UMDNJ:RWJMS - (state school)

we shall see if these are dreams or a possibility after my dreaded mcat haha. :scared:

UVA is what I'm aiming for.

However, if I could just choose any school, I'd probably have to go with UW.

Stanford! Without a question!
Man oh man... Can't wait to take my spot!
We'll see what kind of game I can play with the cards I have =)

strange. i interviewed there today and really loved it. thought the people there were pretty cool.

I am trying not to pick a #1 school out of the fear that they break my heart. It's hard though, when you read about a school and go "Wow, that is so amazing, I really want to go there." Maybe around April/May next year?

University of Accepts Me and Leaves Me w/ Less Than $200,000 Debt

Did you mean the students? Because I was referring to the staff and several of the professors at harvard. There are certainly some decent people but there was an overwhelming number of jerks that I met there. I admittedly haven't been there since 3 years ago but I had heard similar stories of frustration. Oh well, things change.

Baylor!
Then the rest of the Texas schools
Chicago schools
KU
But oh, I would love to go to Baylor.

oh, yeah, i did mean the students. guess i misunderstood.

yeah, i worked at HMS for a summer with USRP and while my PI was quite possibly the sweetest, most genuine person on the face of the earth, i def met some conceited jerks as well. so i see where you're coming from.

(although i should say that the thoracic surgeon i interviewed with yesterday was SO nice, not the type of guy you'd expect to go into such a competitive field!)

all the schools that accept me... which at the moment is zero

^ oh man dw2158. congratulations!!!! i didnt know u were accepted!!! hope u get into hms😛
