HEllo,

I'm taking Kaplan but a friend loaned me TPR science workbook. How close to AAMC exam questions are the questions in it? I find it excellent. What do you guys think about it? Though there are quite a few wrong answers in the answer section.

Thanks,

T

I thought the TPR book was good too. But as for being similar to the MCAT, it's a little off since the passages are sometimes way too specific about the materials being tested. For example, they divide up the passages according to the contents, ie. passages 5-10 deal with osicllations and waves, I doubt the MCAT sticks to only one topic throughout the entire passage. But overall, it's a great book and a great source of practice questions for the MCAT.

I would be careful about "THINKING" there are errors in the back of the book. I am in the TPR class, and I can tell you that I have done quite a few of the passages and problems in this book. I have yet to find an error. I often think there are errors, but when I go back or bring the problem into the class, I am informed of my ignorance.

Thinking things are errors when they are not is a HUGE mistake. The TPR and the Kaplan books have been proofread and used by so many people that they contain relativly few errors. When you look at the EK stuff, it is chalked full of errors. They claim that their material has fewer errors, but it isn't true. Just look at the number of errors they have listed on the website, there are hundreds. TPR and Kaplan do not post their errors, but that is because they contain fewer. If you don't belive me check it out for yourself. It is pretty tuff to find errors in their stuff, where as EK has multiple per chapter.

That being said, I use EK because I love their materials. Just remember, most of the time you think there is an error, it isn't.
