Post-bac, smp, etc or none at all?

I have a 3.45/3.52 bcpm UG and 29 MCAT. I estimated that if I took a year of post-bac courses my gpa could go up to about 3.63/3.71bcpm. I really want to be competitive and I'm willing to put in time and money (loans) before applying to have a few options as opposed to getting into one school. Granted I'm not trying to get into the very top schools, what kind of program should I look into?

Thanks!

With your stats you shouldn't have much of a problem getting into most schools with a good PS and a few ECs. Have you even tried applying anywhere? Many state schools are willing to take in-state residents as long as their GPA is >3.2 and MCAT >= 27. If you really feel you need to be even more competitive, then SMP would be the choice. Post-bac woudn't do you much good at this point.

IMO, however, you should just go apply or retake the MCAT if necessary.
