93geo what kind of questions did you get on CDR? did you get Search and Destroy or Tone/Inference problems? I did the first TopScore test a week ago and all it had was S&D, meanwhile I heard on the real DAT, you might have an article or two with tone/inference problems.

CDR has a lot of tone and inference and "what is not in the paragraph..." kind of questions.

People usually do better on the real DAT than CDR.

Last on CDR I averaged 20. top score I averaged 21

actual DAT I got 19.

I can't access achiever so I couldn't tell you what I did on that.

CDR gives you an accurate presentation of how things are formatted. Top score for some reason makes the font ungodly tiny and with no way to adjust. I remember getting a headache from it.

I just did crack dat reading test 1 and got an 18. The passages weren't scientific and 9-15 paragraphs long. Is this fairly representative of the real DAT? Is an 18 good for crack dat? I also noticed many of the ones I got wrong were silly mistakes.

Topscore isnt a good representation for the DAT...I scored a 22 on topscore and got an 18 on the real DAT last summer because I wasn't use to answering tone questions. It was my fault for not really practicing reading, but I thought since i was getting 20+ on topscore I didn't have to. Big mistake.

I'm planning on retaking this summer. I was also wondering how good CDR is.

I'm getting 18,19's on crack dat reading. I get a bit higher on Kaplan and Princeton though. I take the DAT in two weeks.

I do poor at the reading section too. it's odd because I'm decent at writing and can read pretty average. I wrote my first kaplan reading test today and got a 17 ~ I'm getting pretty worried because I dont really know how to raise this section.

Has anyone been able to bump their score up? What did you do? CDR? Topscore?

I have taken 5 CDR tests so far now and just took my first topscore test. My scores from CDR were 17, 20, 16, 16, 18. On topscore I got a 19 in reading. I dont really know why but reading is one of my weak points. I hope the more I practice the better I get. I guess I'll be happy with an 18+ on the real DAT.
