Background: Junior AA-male, first-gen, low SES, LGBT+, very "inspiring" life story (so much so that, upon acceptance to my UG, they filmed a mini-doc about me and my life, including interviewing teachers from my high school, etc. -- PM for more details haha)
GPA: 3.5cgpa/3.3sgpa
Experience:
Hospice/homeless clinic volunteer: ~150 hours
Boys and Girls Club (mentoring young AA boys): ~200 hours
ACT tutoring at low-income high schools that are primarily AA/Hispanic: ~50 hours
Intern with Diversity program at UG: ~250
On-campus job (to pay car insurance and other bills): ~3000 hours
On exec board for conference for minority students: will finish with at least 150+ hours
Volunteer with organization that focuses on families impacted by HIV/AIDS: ~75 hours
Can list more, if need be
Shadowing:
~60 hours with primary care, otolaryngologist, oncologist
State of Residence: MO
My dream school, quite literally, is UCLA-Drew. What MCAT scores is a school like that usually looking for? I noticed that their secondary allows you to use the past SIX years on your application (so that would add another ~950 volunteer hours for me). With my background, what MCAT range should I be aiming for to get an MD acceptance? That is the goal for me.
