apparently my mother's dentist was on a panel for medical and dental school interviews the other day, and one of the candidates asked a question that made his jaw drop. she asked (of the oldest doctor on the panel) "what is the age range of the teachers here?" why? "well, we all know that the most current research comes from the youngest doctors." 😱

The kid didn't even have it right. I think he was referring to the fact that research has shown that doctors more recently out of med school (and likely to be younger) are more likely to be knowlegeable about the latest research than a doc who graduated from med school 20+ years ago. "Current research" can come from docs of all ages. 😛 In fact, sometimes it is the older, more established researchers who are more successful in getting research funding.
