Could someone please tell me whether interview invitations are sent during thanksgiving break? I am eagerly awaiting invitations to interview but I have to leave town by Tuesday. Is it advisable for me to leave town? Do they give you at least a week's notice so that I can still make it to my interviews? Moreover, how soon do I have to acknowledge receipt of an interview invitation. Thanks

Leave town, eat a whole ton on turkey, and enjoy your holidays! Admissions committee people go home too...

You might get some snail mail, but I doubt any school's going to be sending out e-mails over the holidays. Whatever you get will either be an invite with a set time, which you're to confirm, or an invitation to call and schedule. Either way, a few days delay won't matter, and you wouldn't be able to contact them Thurs-Sun anyway.
So enjoy your holiday and let it be an opportunity to forget med school applications for a little while! 🙂
