I know hat the majority of you guys secretly desire to be nurse practitioners but couldn't hack it so you went to medical school instead. Since I don't have time to newer all your questions while in working, and my god do you doctors have a lot of questions, post them here and I'll answer them as time permits. Thanks!

Is it difficult or awkward to integrate into traditional academic hospital teams? Often times, the senior resident is supposed to be leading the team and this would generally work well in a traditional setting where the other team members are interns or medical students. But if there are PA's or NP's on the team (some who have more years under their belt than the senior resident) is it difficult to let the senior resident have the leadership role (which is part of the training experience)?

Is it true that being an NP offers very little financial incentive over being just an RN? I know RNs can easily make $30-40 an hour and the NPs in my area, in EM, make like ~$45/hr. Also how does it feel to know that EM docs will be pulling in ~$170+/hr for working the same shift as you?
