I liked the girls interviewing for the PA program more than the food at MWU AZ...:whistle::whistle::whistle:
I'll agree with you there. A lot of them were really pretty.

Shout to the girl interviewing for the PT program though that wore a bright pink jacket, jeans, and pink sneakers instead of a suit. You go girl.

Is it true the majority of dental students are either married, engaged, or currently in a relationship? Lol
I'm super single.

Like I live alone with 2 cats single.

Pitt was the best! NYU second (Had both breakfast and lunch which was nice!). Then Maryland, Nova, Rutgers, Loma Linda (no food)

AT Still= cold deli sandwiches, chips, drinks
UNLV = fajitas (steak, chicken, etc), fruit, dessert
Baylor= free meal at the food court
Houston: Catered Italian (breaded chicken, pasta, salad, etc)
UPenn: fancy breakfast, mediocre cold sandwich for lunch

Ironically, food does matter to me as it indicates hospitality in an interview

More than half never last.. I would say 80%? If they are long distance relationship... lol... wont last a month. If they live together then maybe but if they are apart, not lasting. Plus I've read in here that it is like HIgh school all over again. SHould be fun..

They gave us subway when I interviewed!
No way!
I must've been part of the "B" squad of interviewees.....
Lol there were like 50 people there and when Don asked "no one has a kid, right?" I was the only one who raised my hand, so he asked how old my kid was. At this point I already felt old, but then I felt even worse when I had to announce that I have more than one child lol.

Maybe because my group was smaller (last group to interview) they could give us subway.
LOL what a weird thing to say/ask!

It really does affect one's perception of the school, however irrational that may be.

My interviewer at Houston kept me longer than scheduled, so when I returned to the main room everyone else was already eating. I didn't mind that they started without me (it would've been worse to force everyone to wait for me), but I was kinda bummed out because most of the food was gone and nobody overseeing the interview day had thought to make a plate for me. I saw multiple people with two or three breaded chicken breasts on their plates, and I didn't get any. Maybe they just didn't account for all the piggies. I did get some salad and scalloped potatoes, maybe a bit of pasta? I forget. If there was a dessert, I either didn't see it or they ran out of that too.

It's a situation that could've gone two ways, with opposite outcomes. If they had made a plate for me (in case of ), I would've been really impressed by their thoughtfulness and it would've been a positive experience. Instead I got the sense that the people in charge (in that room) were a little oblivious/naive at best, apathetic at worst. But really, who would expect someone to take three chicken breasts?! They probably just couldn't imagine that level of gluttony and thought there was plenty of food.

Let's talk about things that really matter. Lunch.

What was your favorite food that you were given at interviews?

My winner: MWU AZ was having an event in the dining hall where they usually go so they had catered Italian food buffet style for us instead. I'm talking all different types of pastas, salads, GARLIC bread 😍, desserts, etc. It was fantastic. The break room that we were in also had all sorts of candy, granola bars, muffins, other things like that. This made me so happy because I had to rush to the airport after my interview and wasn't able to eat again until Southwest gave me a pack of peanuts mid flight.

My loser: UNE. They didn't feed us. We got a bottle of water. I almost gnawed my arm off because of how hungry I was.

Honorable mention: LECOM. We were given a mini can of soda and our choice of a wrap + a bag of chips. It was okay.
Looks like I ain't applying to UNE anymore...

Dang that's disappointing!

It was during the financial aid portion. He was talking about a modified budget to account for child care.

Divorce rates between doctors/dentist who marry another doctor/dentist are around 10%, whereas divorce rates between doctor/dentist and another non-doctor/dentist are around 70%.
Where did you get these stats from? I find much different numbers.

MWU AZ had gourmet sushi when I interviewed there. It was so delicious.

Also Touro Nevada could do better on the food department. We had kosher pizza and coke...

So...if I don't get married...I won't get divorced! #winning

In my experience definitely NYU. I visited 4 schools. Three of them were pretty much the same, providing sandwiches of some sort of lunches that were pretty much same, which were a different type of sandwiches provided in a room with the interviewees and student ambassadors. NYU was different though. At NYU they provided interviewees with a food voucher for the school's cafeteria. Once inside you can pretty much get what you want. They had a pretty nice selection from what I remember. During my visit I believe that they had wings, pasta dishes, salmon, salad, pizza, I want to say sandwiches and wraps and a some other selections. Some interviewees grab two plates/drinks, and I may or may not have followed their lead  because once you use the voucher I believe its "no return" after that lol.

It would be great if the other programs allowed you experience the food that the campus had to offer students, but on the other hand I guess you can probably avoid a lot of food allergies by sticking to sandwiches. I say just take the chance and have some EpiPens and anti-histamines on site, but that's just me 😉

It was a big selection. I tried to get something that wasn't messy, or anything crazy unhealthy. Since we were still with the D3's, I didn't consider the interview over until I walked out the door. I didn't want to be judged

I grabbed one of the giant cookies and gave it to my daughter when my wife picked me up from the airport lol.

This thread gave me a dream about my entire life that revolved around talking to people and trying to ask out women on SDN 24/7.

I need help.

I heard it on a Howard Farran dental podcast, which is admittedly not a very reliable source. I didn't pull them out of my ass, but listening to that guy is pretty close

Did Farran explain the discrepancy in the rates?

I'm curious about Stony Brook and Touro now.

Stony Brook had some cold sandwiches, bottles of water, and plain potato chips.

Touro had breakfast and lunch. Various sandwiches, muffins, mini bagels, cans of soda, water bottles.

Neither was anything special quality wise.

Touro also had way more students interviewing. There were 5 of us at Stony Brook.

wait what? you got the fancy style lunch at MWU AZ? I got 9$ food voucher to buy stuff in the cafeteria and eat in a hot cafeteria at MWUAZ .

winner: UNLV, fancy style lunch order by the school from the local restaurant, beef chicken salad all the good stuff
loser: nova, like a home made stuff with plastic wrapped lunch. I commented that on the interview day no wonder why I am not accepted

Yeah we couldn't go into the cafeteria that day because there was an event going on

Yeah... after my Nova interview I drove over to the nearest BurgerFi (think Five Guys/Smash Burger/Shake Shack), and it made everything better lol I had waited months to go to Florida to try that place only to find out that they had already started opening restaurants in the NYC area... :bang:

Is one of the best parts about husbanhood and parenthood getting to eat extra left overs? Left overs are what I miss most about having a girlfriend...
Yes and no.
I love leftovers, but EVEN mac & cheese and chicken nuggets get old after a while.
But you better believe that there is NEVER any leftover dessert.
