Mayo or Yale...hmm I think Mayo -- ya can't go wrong with either though.

Cornell.. I wish they would give SOME kind of preference to their own undergrads... too bad they are not loving 'parents'

Since I just interviewed at Cornell, it has risen to the top of my list.

UT Southwestern! I'm originally from the Dallas area, and I'd like to get back to my Texas roots. I'm also attracted to the school because of its solid ranking and dirt-cheap tuition (<$7,000/year in-state tuition almost always granted to out-of-staters). Less than a week to go before the match!

I'd love to get an interview from Sinai... And my other dream schools are the ones that are going to send me thin letters soon (Cornell, NYU and Penn.)

But of the schools from which I've been accepted, it's a tie b/w Einstein and Temple for various reasons.

I'm considering camping out at UCSD until they let me in <img src="graemlins/lovey.gif" border="0" alt="[Lovey]" /> <img src="graemlins/lovey.gif" border="0" alt="[Lovey]" />

honestly, can't you all just taste the yearning in this thread?
:)

Me too, Dr. Kermit. And I loved Columbia when I interviewed. I guess UWSOM is my first choice, but for financial reasons, so it's hard to say I'm obsessed. Maybe after I interview there.......
OHSU would be nice for being close to family. I guess when it comes down to it, I'm not obsessed. I just want to go to medical school.

Afer interviewing there, I would have to say that Yale is my current obsession. I really don't want to get my hopes up too much, only to have them dashed in March, but it is an amazing place.

Yale or Dartmouth. I'm most likely going to Dartmouth but yale could change my mind ;)

UWSOM, Tufts

To Tufts Med School - please give me an interview!!

WashU or UPenn. I interviewed at both, but still have yet to hear from them.

Anybody else want to add?

Boston University...right now it's my only hope

University of Chicago Pritzker.

Of the places I've interviewed, it's gotta be Columbia for me, then Sinai - both of which I was very impressed with. Of the places I haven't, well let's see, Harvard, Hopkins, Yale, Penn...you get the picture :) .

<img src="graemlins/lovey.gif" border="0" alt="[Lovey]" /> Medical School <img src="graemlins/lovey.gif" border="0" alt="[Lovey]" />

Penn, Penn, let me in. (Repeat)••

If you pronounced that like an Australian, it would even rhyme. Pinn, Pinn, let me in!

Without a doubt, I am set on going to the University of Chicago-Pritzker. Now I just have to get off the waitlist.

Well it used to be Stanford or UCSF since I wanted to be in the bay area, but now that I've pretty much been axed by both I'd have to say Baylor or Penn.

Gosh, there's so many, its hard to decide...

1. Penn/Yale (tied)
2. Cornell
3. Northwestern
4. Columbia (because its another great school in NYC, not because I loved their curriculum or anything)

-I've been accepted to U Rochester--whose curriculum I loved but I wish it was somewhere besides upstate NY.

UTMB-Galveston and TCOM

UCSF. I wish I was their obsession, too. Maybe they will bless me on the Valentine's day <img src="graemlins/lovey.gif" border="0" alt="[Lovey]" /> <img src="graemlins/lovey.gif" border="0" alt="[Lovey]" /> <img src="graemlins/lovey.gif" border="0" alt="[Lovey]" /> (their next decision date).

bumpity for the new round of applicants!

I want upstate to take me.

UMass. Not an Ivy, but my baby nonetheless.

they're not even in the top 100. (not that rankings matter) :)

My top choice is Duke for MSTP.

it was great to see a few of the obsessions become realities- like Lady in red- UCSF,
coop-Pritzker
MorningLight-Columbia
?-Cincy

Quite a few folks- seemed most of the columbia crew got in. It's close to .500 for this thread and matriculating at that dream school! --Trek

UCSF, though it took them so damn long to figure it out!!

Yeup - Case for me too. P/F grading and no classes past noon?? Come on!

Plus it's just down the hill from my house. Not having to move and being able to walk to school would be a dream.

ucsd... warm weather, not tooo much of a long shot, good school, not too far from home.

What about Penn

I admit, I may be slightly biased... :D

I definitely like Penn's secondary -;)

I really, really, really want to go to UNC.

However, I promise to promote any school that lets me in to dream school status.

Michigan....please please let me in!!!!!!!!

Uniformed Services University. I just toured the school on Wednesday. Very nice, and the computerized learning tools are impressive. Every one is so friendly and the student interaction is very cooperative.

Second choice Ohio State (I like the idea of independent study). It would be very difficult to turn down Johns Hopkins if they accepted me. I toured the school last year, and they were very nice to me. I told them about me and that I had not taken the MCAT and that I was not going to be applying for another year. They said that it was ok, and took me on a tour anyway. There was no scheduled tour, they just made one for me. And they talked to me like THEY wanted ME! I was very flattered, and it left a good impression with me.

Can I add a suggestion?

It'd be really interesting to see the TOP reason WHY you're obsesssed. Nothing like "I love their curriculum..." More like...

Cornell - BECAUSE I WANT TO LIVE ON THE UPPER EAST SIDE

Hey, that's a good honest reason!

I want upstate because it's state school(though I hear they are hiking the tuition) and we won't have to sell our house and my fiance won't have to give up his practice! Plus, our families are closeby.

I just really don't want to move if I don't have to!

i don't like cornell's location at all...too stuffy an environment...and soo everything around there is soo $$$$

Columbia!!!!

I'd have to say Mayo.

Why? Well, my family and my fiance's family is all in the Twin Cities....so Mayo would be just far enough away to be "away" yet close enough to see the family when I want to. While cities are fine, I'll probably spend the rest of my life in large cities - I want to go to med school in a smaller place where I can focus on studying. Plus my family has a place on Lake Pepin in Lake City, MN, which is a nice 15 minute drive from Rochester. Nothing like a little jet ski ride after a hard lecture. And all my life "Mayo" has meant world-class, uncompromised patient care...I'd pretty much have to go if they accepted me (that is if I survived the shock of being admitted).

Unfortunately my chances at Mayo are slim...(as if anybody is a shoe-in at Mayo).

Well, mine used to be Johns Hopkins... until I spent some quality time in Baltimore ("America's greatest city" ). It's all just as well, I have no chance there anyway....

So now it's a 3-way tie between Harvard, Mayo, and Stanford... though I have slim (we're talking anorexic) chances at any of them. ;)

my dreams schools were always UChicago-Pritzker or Hopkins...whaddaya know...both of my dreams came true! There's hope for everyone!

#2 is Northwestern, so I could be close to my family. #1 is Washington University, because it's a great school and St. Louis is the home base of Nelly. ;)
