What schools accept biochem instead of orgo II?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I know RVU does, I am not sure about the rest, as I don't remember! You really will probably have to do the leg work yourself; it is only ~25 schools, you can do it...

+1 I don't know of a list that accepts Biochem over Organic II. Personally, I'd recommend making a list of those schools that you're interested in and then double checking prior to applying.

If you happen to apply to a school that requires Organic II, more than likely it will be one you can complete prior to matriculation. However, I cannot certify nor guarantee this so just check it out. 🙂

From the schools I applied to, DMU (actually requires biochem and not orgo 2), KCOM (and SOMA I think), CCOM (so I would assume AZCOM), and NSU (i think). Honestly, I e-mailed a bunch around my area and the only one who said no was Oklahoma State. I think Ohio might, but I can't remember.

KCUMB also requires biochem, but if you take it with lab at 4 credits or so, you will complete the number of chemistry credits they require, and not have to take ochem 2. but if you don't take the lab, you won't.

I tried doing a search on here but everything that came up was for MD. Is there a list anywhere on here?
MSUCOM isn't mentioned in the link but the program requires 16 credits of chemistry--inorganic, organic and at least three credits of biochemistry. MSUCOM doesn't even require labs as part of the 16 credits.

My sources: email with admissions advisor, a classmate who has confirmed the same information, and the website: http://www.com.msu.edu/admissions/requirements.html.

The only way to make the credits work at MSUCOM is to take the Labs.
You need gen chem 1,2 + Orgo 1,2 + Biochem... If you don't take the labs (which you're usually required to in all but Biochem) you're credits short.

Aside from that, seeing as how both Orgo 2 and Biochem are pre reqs, I don't see how one can make up for the other.

This is my understanding also...
