So I am trying to figure out my list of schools to apply to and picking a curriculum is an important part of it.

I personally dont like classes that go from 8AM-5PM since its a colossal waste of time.

I prefer the morning classes 8-12 with the rest of information being independent study based.

Anyone know any schools that follow this plan?

*can a mod move this to pre-allo? put it on this by accident.

Um NONE.
Dude, in for a rude wake up call if you get into medical school because residency starts at 7am every day or earlier if you do surgery. Even if you go to LECOM and do Independent study pathway you will have to do the first 10 weeks with eveyone else during the anatomy section. Gonna have to get over it and just apply becasue if you try to apply where you get class time that suits you, find another profession. It's just isn't going to happen.

what i meant by the 8-12 was the preference for morning lectures, not labs or group sessions (PBLs etc)

I heard that UTHSCSA's new curriculum is similar to that plan, so obviously there have to be other schools following that plan.

I believe you're out by noon at UTMB (noticed you're in TX). However, on some afternoons you might have some PBL activities. Some of the Cali schools also have this schedule.

You probably heard right about UTHSCSA. Their curriculum was borrowed/adapted from UTMB's I believe, so the similarities would be obvious.

yeah thats the kind of schedules I'm looking for for OOS schools (basically all AMCAS lol).

Univ of Maryland. 8-12 (for lecture and lab). All afternoons off!!
And they are quite OOS friendly for a state school.

Awesome. I hope we get a compiled list going as more and more students add in.

So far we have

UTMB
UTHSCSA
Univ of Maryland.
