Hello people. I just wanted to start a thread to find out how dental schools will let us know of an Acceptance/Rejection once December 1st comes around. I need to know, so can plan my week around, because i might be working, so i need to know whether to sneak my phone to work or not lol

Hi there, I don't know which schools you've applied to but I'll tell you what I've learned:
1) Maryland will send out an e-mail later in the "afternoon" according to the Dean of Admissions. They may not updated AADSAS right away, so checking your e-mail is your best bet.
2) Pitt will call you at some point on December 1st or later, obviously.
3) Penn only sends snail mail, but they try to time it so that the letter arrives on December 1st or within a few days (I've heard rumors some people may get their letter a day early!)
4) NYU used to call, but they are considering just doing AADSAS updates this year. I visited in September, so maybe someone else will have more updated information.

If anyone has information on Case, UoP, BU, Tufts, or Temple notifications, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks, and I hope I helped someone out!

I was told that UOP calls on December 1st!

I also read somewhere that Pitt updates AADSAS at midnight... I'm not sure if this is true and I can't even remember where I read it lol

Ohh, and I think a good place to get this info might be the "acceptance threads" from last year. People probably posted "just got the call", "just got the email" etc and you maybe can make a list from there?

VCU updates your AADSAS status, but it doesn't show up til the morning of December 1st (not at like midnight). UNLV sends you a letter via snail mail, but you can call starting December 1st to see if you're in or not. I thought NYU said they also send a letter via snail mail, but I might be wrong.

-NYU sent out snail mail last year, but is considering e-mailing+snail mail. They said they likely wouldn't do AADSAS, because it's impersonal

BU told me that they've been known to come into the office at midnight on Dec. 1 and send out the emails.

I heard that Creighton sends out emails early in the morning.

NYU has been doing snail mail for awhile and I'm assuming it will be the same this year, but they didn't say anything specific while I was there.

On Midwestern-AZ's applicant website, you'll be able to access a new area called "Accepted student checklist" that will show what pre-req's you're missing, etc. They also, usually, will call you, though they didn't call me and I ended up calling them just to verify that I was in.

Michigan will update their school site at midnight and call you in the morning.

Does anyone know if UoP updates their portal or AADSAS early in the morning of Dec 1 as well? I would like to know since I have a flight at 11am that morning and would not be able get their call

WesternU will call this year on Dec 1.

Brian Trecek from Marquette said they try to call everyone the night before Dec. 1st.

Does anyone know how MN, Case, or Iowa contact you?

The buzz is LECOM will be sending out singing telegrams.
