Hi! I'm currently a sophomore at community college, hoping to transfer to NCSU for animal science. At my community college, there aren't really any opportunities for extracurriculars or clubs, so I'm hoping to get involved at NCSU, but I'm having trouble finding ways to improve my diversity and hours. I really enjoy my small animal job right now, and I don't want to quit my job, but I know I need to diversify my veterinary hours... Let me know if you have any advice.

CC GPA: 4.0

Vet Hours:
Small Animal Hospital: ~ 2000 hours

Animal Hours:
Canine rescue: ~200 hours
Equine riding therapy: ~80 hours
Raptor rescue/wildlife center: ~50 hours

Awards:
President's list 3x

Extracurriculars:
None... :/ No sports, clubs, leadership opportunities

Research:
None :/

Let me know how you think I can diversify my vet hours and maybe get some extracurriculars and research in as well. I hate that I love my job so much because it makes it hard to quit and get a different job, haha! I was thinking I could try to get a second job on days that I don't work or take a day off work to shadow, but I'm just not sure because I'm saving money to go through undergrad with zero debt.

I know vet school wants you to have a personality and something you're passionate about outside of the vet field, but I'm having trouble finding something that speaks to me :/
Let me know if anyone has any advice for me, it would be appreciated!

Honestly I wouldn’t sacrifice your job especially if you love it and can still learn from it. You can gain more diverse veterinary hours by volunteering, shadowing, etc. When you transfer you can join the pre-vet club and they’ll be able to connect you to new opportunities and even direct you to the professors on campus that take students in for research.
