Okay so i am currently UC student (senior)
and planning to apply for dental schools this summer ( i mean 2012)

I know i have to be positive but i just want to have some backups just in case i didnt get accepted to any dental school.

So, if i want to do Masters program to raise up my GPA,
when does that start?

it is a year program right?
but the thing is that i have to take just ONE class during fall, so i cant do masters if it starts during fall.

what do people usually do after graduation IF they did not get into dental school?
(except preparing for DAT again)
i know i want to try one more time.
Do people just take part-time jobs and study or what?

sorry my thread gets too wordy..!

Did you take the DAT? if so what were the scores. also what is your total gpa and your sGPA? A masters is usually recommended for those that did not get accepted into d-school, I wouldnt rush and do a masters for the hell of it because its expensive and might not be necessary. But to answer your question, yes most students who dont get in either go into a masters program or attempt to retake the DAT.

It all depends on your GPAs. A 3.6 or above total GPA and a 3.5 or above sGPA are enough for d-school (not all schools, but most.) And your DAT should be a 19 AA, 19 TS and 19 PAT these are usually the minimum accepted DAT scores (lower scores have been accepted but those students do not represent the majority or even the average applicant.) so to summarize:

Low GPAs -> Masters
Low DAT -> DAT retake

Most of the time you only need to fix one problem area so its pretty clear what that is from the above choices.
