My IPPE 2 rotation starts in 2 weeks but I have not received my intern license yet for that state... i am licensed in another state. I have been waiting for 2 months. I call every week for an update but the representatives seem lost. I don't know what to do 😕 Will my preceptor check to see if i have my license? Should I contact my school? I don't know I'm confused and scared :scared:

What is your IPPE 2? The practice setting will determine a fair amount. If it's retail, you can't counsel patients or take phone orders until it gets there, which you might not be doing in the first few days anyway. If you're inpatient, doing chart reviews, filling carts, batching IVs probably won't require an intern permit either.

Experiential office at my school verifies all licenses prior to rotations. My license was delayed as well, the school emailed me and cc'ed my preceptor about a possible cancellation. The state board approved it the Friday before my rotation started. If you don't have a license, I don't know if the rotation (or hours) would count so check w/ the school.

My preceptor didn't ask about my intern license at all; I had it ready but nobody at the school nor the pharmacy checked. I'm guessing if you don't mention it they may not either.
