I complete my application and my DAT score was turned in in late September. So far I have not receive anything yet (AADSAS said my application was completed and waiting for decision)

I'm Asian, GPA 3.5 total and 3.6 for science

DAT scores wasnt high (studied for 3 weeks, not even completed Kaplan book) 19 avg and 20 for science my English score was 18 (which is low, I know, second language)

I have been waiting since September. got rejected from 5 schools, and 10 more to go lol.

why I havent got any answer from them yet? Do I need to turn in Fall grade ? When do I suppose to update my application ? and where?

I think the academic update period is over ( not positive though). what schools have you applied to? sept is a lil late, what schools have rejected you so far? RC of 18 is not THAT bad, some schools value it higher than others. You should focus on improving your application for the next cycle.

Well you know, schools don't try too hard this cycle to pick its applicant, so maybe you didn't get picked this cycle. Also you applied late, not that it's a big deal, but it probably hurt you, you dig what i am saying?

And also schools don't really like students who study 3 weeks for an exam that could really affect their lives, you know they like serious students.

You may have gotten 5 rejections for now but the other 10 will come soon lol.

Your tone sounds so immature... and i just responded in similar fashion to show you how b!tchy and unprofessional it sounds. In my experience, schools are looking for mature and professional people who give a crap. So maybe you should sound like you actually care. I hope you didn't use a similar tone for your application material.

And your DAT + GPA are okay, just package your application better and supply earlier next cycle. At this time, it might be too late for this cycle. All the best for the next cycle.

op your race has nothing to do with it.

you applied really really late.

just to give you an idea of how late you applied... i will throw some #'s

if you have applied to schools which accept oos students... before even you applied there are about 2-3k+ students in front of you. so thats how late you were...

what? You have got to be kidding me; quit judging the guy from the 5 sentences that he wrote on this online forum. He didn't sound "b!tchy and unprofessional at all" but you sure do. Students study for 3 weeks for the exam ALL the time and score just fine (this guy, along with myself are both good examples). That has nothing to do with how serious of a student he is.

To the OP: it is most likely because you applied late. Your DAT scores are fine, but you will need to make some sort of improvement for the next cycle. What do you have in mind, what do you think you can improve upon?

Judging me from several lines i posted there? Alright there...

Anyway, OP here is looking for constructive criticism and that's what i gave him, he's not looking for someone to cuddle with.... I gave him good advice and people should just be more sincere and professional in life, not just interviews.

I was judging you from the fact that you were insulting the OP; good try though.

and calling him "b!tchy and immature" is not constructive criticism 🙂

Shrug... for whatever it's worth, the OP sounded immature to me as well. "lol, I didn't study enough" is hardly a valid excuse for unsatisfactory performance (and btw, I don't even know why he felt the need to excuse himself. 19/20/18 is plenty good with that GPA.) Neither is "it's my second language," really. Without wanting to sound condescending (and I know I'm going to), English's my 3rd language, and I scored a 24 on RC.
Finally, not even knowing about the academic update is outright dumb.

Like the others said, OP needs to get his act together and apply early, next year.

+1👍

Ty u all for your helps!

Well, I am just asking u guys the way I ask a friend ... Didnt really think that u want me to be that serious. I actually know that im not well prepared this time, so im not hoping for getting in ( a chance to know how the interview is like would be nice). My first time applying and I have no friend who have the same path as mine. Ur answers mean a lot actually.

Do we have to be serious when we talk to each other in here? We are not students anymore or what? Well, when Im talking in to my mentors, Im always use profressional tone and manner. But with friends, we have to do it too? U guys talk to your friends like that ? If thats how u get in the school, I will try to always stay mature and professional. The dentist that I shadowed was always chilled and cool with his patients, everyone love him ^^,

U are so cool, what is the other languages? I just have no talent with languages at all.

Sure will apply earlier, but when is early? Can u give me a range?

English, American, and Canadian.

No...not really. 😛

Ignoring your probable case of troll-itis, TLDNR-itis, or broken search function syndrome, you have a six weeks window between the start of the cycle (June) and the first interviews being given out (mid-July.) Aim for that.

OP, I definitely think it's time to start gearing up for the next cycle as others have advised. I applied on November 1 to 22 schools, and received interviews from about 10 around early December through the middle of January. So far, only 2 rejections, but I'm sure the other 10 or so will follow soon. If you haven't heard by now, I believe that's a sign that your app was passed on. Applying early is super important and would have made my life much less stressful, so definitely click that submit button during the first few days of June!

You GPA and DAT are both fine (better than fine IMO).... I think your biggest issue is ur application was completed late.

The schools that rejected you, did you contact them? and what did they say as for the reason?

You don't sound condescending at all... your just proofing a point that many pre-dents fail to understand.

Just because your English is a 3rd language, it doesn't justify a lower-than-average performance on RC.... Because a counter argument is... what you just showed.

Btw, english is my 3rd as well, how did you get a 24 😱😱😱

Thanks for the kind words. I guess I knew Lmaozedong would be lurking about with his "YOU ARE A TOOL!!!" beatstick and got paranoid. Hehe.

they sent me email and tell me that due to the limited seats, they rejected me.

I didnt receive any info about updating my grade. do I go to AADSAS or each individual school website? These school did not send me anything yet.

You should call them directly and find out what about your application turned them off.
