I know I made a thread before but... somehow I still want some kinds of advises to settle my heart down:

Right now I am a CS major and my GPA is 3.23. But still need to take around 7 CS classes, and also need to take 2 general chems, 2 organic chems, 2 physic, and 1 bio chem. Some people advice me to get Bio minor, and try to get 4.0 for 2 years, so then i can get 3.7+ gpa, that would help get an interview, that also mean ace the DAT.

I just want to make sure by asking you guys is this what i have to do?

Yeah, you know what to do. It's just about going out there and doing it.

Make sure you go out and shadow some dentists too. Get at least 50 hours of shadowing before submitting your application.

Alright, I got one dentist okay with me shadowing her. I have two years to do it, and I will make sure i get load of hours. Also, when should I take the DAT?

You're going to have to plan your courses carefully. Basically, before you take the DAT you're going to need to complete:

Bio 1&2, Chem 1&2, O chem 1&2.

Therefore, your junior year you should take bio 1/2 and chem 1/2. Your senior year you should take O chem 1/2. All this ontop of your graduation requirements for CS. Then after your final year you'll have finished the said classes above and be ready to take the DAT come application time; summer after your senior year.

This isn't ideal because most people apply their junior year - but I dont see any way around it in your situation because you have so many prereqs left - you would have a gap year with my plan.

As an alternative you can try to bust out all bio chem and o chem the same year then take the DAT & apply the summer between your junior and senior year (very difficult - high chance of being very lost in O chem).

GL. What ever you do get your GPA up.

And sorry for the confusion. I done my 2 bio classes in my community college before.... So i need to do 2 chem, 2 organic, 2 physics. I currently in the first chem class.

Is it alright if I take the DAT before i even take organic chem? Well, my gf is biochem major and she great at those things, straight A student, she probably can teach me since she going for PCAT. Is that also a possible way? cutting it like that.

Sorry for confusion. I done 2 general bio in community college, now it study again, i mean readinng them thru again. But, i still need 2 chem, 2 orga, 2 physics. I currently taking the first general chem.

I'd recommend taking ochem before you take the DAT. If you're confident in studying it on your own, you should do some practice tests to see if you understand it well enough.

You would chance your DAT score on your GF?

I would not.

I took that DAT without taking Ochem 2, but it's probably better to take it prior to the DAT. I got a 21 but it was a lot of self teaching.

Because i am at senior year now. And i going to stay one extra for science class to fullfill the requirement. Staying 2 year after senior is not going to.be good for me.... I guess i will try to self learn and see how far i go
