Hello. I reside in Michigan, and I have been longing to become a dentist since the beginning of sophomore year. I'm almost done with Junior year, and I want to know what I should do to increase my chances of getting accepted to the UDM 7 Year Dental program. I go to an all IB school. My GPA isn't great, at a 3.45 (Freshman GPA was very bad). ACT is yet to be taken (Hopefully 32+). Do you guys know anyone, who has gotten accepted and what they've done to do it? The last question is if UDM is worth it? If I get accepted to the 7 year program, does that mean school will be cheaper or just the fact that I will finish undergrad and dental school in 7 years. Thanks in advance.

7 years overall. Do yourself a favor, save money by not going that route. Personally, I'd apply to schools that offer you a personalized education (not saying that UDM won't) but it's private and very pricey. I personally went to Ferris, mainly because I thought I'd be a pharmacist, either way I switched, and I ended up loving it there. Lots of choices, but I made Ferris very economical as I got in their Honor's program and also was a resident advisor, all while recieving a scholarship, overall I graduated with very little debt, whereas if I went to UDM or any private school that costs 40k a year, I'd be hurting.

Just thoughts to consider, but if YOU think it's the best route for you do what your gut says.
