Usually when there is any odor in the operating room it is quite disgusting. I was trying to think of things in the OR that actually smell good, and could only come up with a few that I like: benzoin, mastisol, methyl methacrylate, flavored pedi masks, and sometimes volatile anesthetics depending on my mood. Some people actually like the smell of cauterized flesh, but those people scare me. What I really can't decide is, do I like the smell of benzoin or mastisol better? I really can't decide which one helps the tegaderm stick better, so I thought I should start choosing based on olfactory qualities, but remain non-committal. Which do you like best?
