This topic came up in one of the school specific threads. I can't think of any of the top of my head but another poster threw out:

Build Me Up (Buttercup)
Quit Playing Games with My Heart :laugh::laugh:

What songs do you associate with the application process/why? (found an old thread about inspirational songs for getting through this year, but not quite what I'm going for...)

Young money - every girl

I hate that ****ing buttercup song and would love to punch the next person in the face who plays it where I'm at

Haha! For better or worse, the buttercup song is a classic. Don't know the other song.

One Thing - Finger Eleven (I will have to come up with something better than this, but at least it kinda fits.)

Die mother ****** die by Dope 🙂

@#$*'ed with a knife - Cannibal Corpse...

I'm sure thats what it would feel like if the pain of this application cycle was translated into physical pain.

Is that the one that plays when they kill the fax machine in Office Space?

I was going to say, "This is the song that doesn't end." because this shiz takes entirely too long.

"What do you want from me?!?!?" Adam Lambert. Especially when he does the rock scream.

Hah...Didn't see that someone else put Cannibal Corpse! Great minds think alike...

Don't Stop Believing - Journey

Don't Stop for Anything - Jonny Lang

Ryan Adams - Gimme a sign
Ryan Adams - Note to self: don't die

"Final Countdown" - Europe
"Highway to hell" - AC/DC

Maneater -- Hall & Oates

Bad Romance -- Lady Gaga

Easy Plateau -- Ryan Adams

Miley Cyrus - Party in the USA (interview trail)

Vanessa Mae - Devil's Trill (ehhh just a decent song all around, no reason for slipping it in here)

Royksopp - Happy up Here (for all of the interview flights)

Handel - Messiah (for any acceptance, must be accompanied by copious amounts of wine)

Hail to the Victors - Michigan Band (realizing you should have applied to U Mich, if for no other reason other than their fight song is the world's greatest)

Mardi Gras Mambo - because Tulane is located in one of the world's best cities, none other than New Orleans

Empire State of Mind - Jay-z/Alicia Keys (for anyone who dreams of studying medicine in NYC...although there are many others that fit the bill here)

Tubthumbing - Chumbawumba (years of mediocre grades, rejections, etc., but somehow it works out)

F*@k You - Cee-Lo Green (anyone ever been rejected??)

Games People Play - Joe South (just another great song)

Plenty more out there...

There's only one real answer to this question, guys (though "@#$*'ed with a knife" is an acceptable alternative): Song for the Dumped - Ben Folds Five. If you applied to Georgetown or GW, that should be your anthem for the rest of your life.

It hurts by 2NE1.

because i m not korean, i have no idea what the lyrics mean. 😛
i just know the application process hurts both my physical and mental well-being.

Young - Hollywood Undead

I Will Not Bow - Breaking Benjamin

While driving to my local school's interview, I was pleased that Grieg's Peer Gynt suite happened to come on the radio. Nothing quite like zooming up the winding forest road with Into the Hall of the Mountain King on full blast. 😀

"oh hey mail from a medical school.. Envelope is kind of thin"

The beatles - please mr postman
Johnny cash - tear stained letter
Nas - drunk by myself

These songs are all pure garbage and I actually got legit mad for an hour after the op mentioned that buttercup song. I had it in my head during my final exam.

Dude, cbrons, do you EVER have anything nice to say? Whenever you post on here, it sounds like you could use some serious anger management classes. But that's just like my opinion, man.

Loved a lot of these suggestions, fellow SDNers!

I associate Interpol with the MCAT since I listened to them basically on repeat for the whole summer before I took the test. I like Interpol so this is unfortunate... I always remember being stressed out when I listen to them now.

I listened to Nelo over and over while studying for the MCAT.

LMAO! I've hummed this tune several times during the process to later realize what the lyrics were and lol.
