Just picked Miami as a reference point. What step1 is generally competitive? And how about if you got some negative factors like 0 reserach, DO school, socially incompetent?

How are we supposed to respond to that?🙂
I guess it might mean anything along the spectrum of not being the most outgoing person to being a potential murderer.

If youre attractive (ie strangers would rate you at least a 7/10) then that will mitigate, to a great extent, social incompetence as being a negative selection factor.

0 research probably wont be much of an issue except at some upper tier programs.

DO will be your only universally negative selection factor. Id say you will need an extra 5 points at low to middle tier schools to compensate and an extra 10 points at upper tier schools.

Average Step 1 for anesthesia is mid 220's.

Thank you. I find it interesting to learn more about DOs and those other topics. But please disregard that. So if you were normal with no connections to miami, what score would make you competitive? Would it be considered upper tier or lower tier in terms of competitiveness? Please do consider the unique geographic location of Miami.
