My exam time is 8am. Should i show up at 8am or sooner? I know there is an extensive check in process. Thanks.

I showed up 30min. early. Collected myself in the parking lot and then went into the center ~20min. early. After checking in, they will ask if you want to begin your test early, I declined and use the time to adjust to my surroundings (you don't get to sit at the computers, but for me, sitting in the waiting room helped to calm my nerves).

Mine was at 8 and I got there around 7:30. I just did some review in the car and walked in little before 8. There weren't that many people there (I am assuming that they went in already) so if you want to start earlier, go in earlier. For me I think that 30 min of last minute review served as a time to calm myself and get ready. The check in process actually isn't that long as long as there isn't a long line.

I would advise going to the testing center and asking any questions before the test.

When I had my DAT i showed up at 7:30 but there were 10 other test takers there and they registered us based on when we got there, so I didnt get to start my test until 8:20.

Also it depends on the type of person that you are, I initially started to freak out but after 10 mins i collected myself and felt confident ( so if you initially feel nervous, don't freak out, just remind yourself that it is perfectly natural.)

Lastly, make sure you ask them about the check out process to go to the bathroom. Unfortunately, I had to go during my Sciences section and i thought it was going to take one or two mins. With the finger prints and metal scanner and everything else it took 12 mins out of my test time.

Yikes! Yes, go beforehand! However, if you DO have to pick a second to rush to the bathroom during, I'd say the sciences were the best one. I finished everything in about 45 minutes and had the rest to check over multiple times. I only changed one answer in the bio section, but hey, I guess I got it right! 🙂

I would show up a bit before. I think I was about 20 minutes early. My Mom and I left the hotel, ate at Cracker Barrel (although I didn't eat much), and then went to the center. I took my test at a particular center that had been recommended to me (it was farther away than the closest option, but the closer was supposedly cold and packed), and everyone was extremely friendly. I told the lady how nervous I was, and she said that the DAT takers were always the most anxious! Yay for us. The do fingerprint you and whatnot, so yeah, it's some serious business.

I didn't eat anything during my break. I had just finished the most difficult PAT section ever and was literally shaking when I exited. I had to get some of that anxious energy so I went outside of the testing office and did a few laps around this monument thing they had in the building (yes, really). I prayed and then went back in a few minutes early--I wasn't sure how long it'd take me to fingerprint me again.

Let me know if you have any more questions!
