I have received an interview and I am so excited for it. My only problem right now is that the school has asked me to fill out some background information. The one question that is tripping me up is they ask me if I have any legal charges. I was charged with underage consumption years ago but all charges have been dismissed. I'm pretty sure none of it is on my record but I don't want to get any offer rescinded. I think I should be completely open but I need some advice on whether or not this will affect my chances.

If it’s not on your record and it doesn’t come up
On a background check... then mums the word

If in doubt, report it. Worst case, I don't think a single MIP is going to ruin it for you. It would be an issue if you had a pattern of them, but otherwise I wouldn't worry. They pretty much know that underage drinking happens, and that it's not only those who got a MIP that were doing this.
