what to do in the 2 days before 2ck?

It looks like I *may* wrap up my 1st pass through UW with 1.5-2 days "free" before the exam. I have pretty much JUST used UW to study - that alone has taken me SO MUCH TIME. Not sure what to do with that time:

- Read the notes I took on UW (currently at 35 pages...eek....)?
- Read Crush?
- Read FA2CK?
- Re-do the questions I got wrong on UW?
- Some combo (reading Crush/FA2CK on UW/NBME identified "weak" areas, redoing questions on "weak" areas, etc)?

I know it's different for everyone, but not sure what others found to be more helpful (i.e. redoing qs, reading crush, etc) and don't have time to do it all 🙂 So glad the end is almost in site with this bugger! Thanks so much for any suggestiosn & best of luck everyone!!!

I've been studying in a similar way as you- I'll have a few days left after I finish world, and I'm going to go over my wrong answers in world and review a few chapters in secrets. Those last few days really fly by (I ran out of time to do all the things I planned to do for step 1)- so I'm going to try to not cram too much and just ease into the test. Good luck!

I'd probably read the notes taken for USMLE World. I noticed that my score typically goes up on the days that I review why I get stuff wrong. You probably won't finish FA in two days. Crush, you might be able to go through in two days. And for the sake of comfort, an NBME might be worth giving you an idea how you're going to do.

golding - also, thx for the thoughts. Yea, FA2CK is like 500 pgs so I don't know how much time it would realistically take to go through (hence the thought of hitting the "weak" areas). Crush might be more realistic (300pgs?) but still not sure.

I took NBME 1 at the beginning of studying, NBME 3 1 week into studying (score dropped 13 points). I was going to take NBME 2 today, and that's probably it. I've heard NBME 4 can be rough so I'm not sure how wise that is to take w/ <1 week before the exam, in terms of shaking confidence, etc...

i did secrets...the new edition which is almost identical to the old edition with the exception of the updated prophy for endocarditis in the new one....I haven't received my score, but doing secrets right before and going over the hy uw q seemed super high yield...

humabot, thanks for the thoughts. I guess I'm slightly confused b/c everyone always said secrets & crush were the same material in different formats, but it seems lately everyone's been all about secrets & less about crush. hmph.

One other quick q - above you said "going over the hy uw q seemed super high yield" - what high yield uw qs? do you mean the ones you got wrong or certain sections? thanks for the clarification!

yes, secrets is the same thing as crush.. i read one chapter of both to see from which format i retained the most from--i retained more by reading secrets...as for the uw, i went over the questions that said high yield for the step 2 exam after the explanation..

yup...i highlighted them as i went through...i figured if they go out of their way to tell you it is hy then i must know that...
