Hello,

I finished my interview with my top choice school. I have two questions, should I send thank you letters for my interviewers, when asked we were told that interviewers don't disclose individual emails, however we are free to send an email to the general admissions office and they will pass it along. Two should I send a letter of intent? This is my top choice medical school. If so how do I do so? Should I send thank you letters and letter of intent together?

I would appreciate any help, this community has been really supportive and helpful to my journey here!

Send them if it will make you feel better. Ultimately nobody cares about thank you letters. Before you send the letter of intent make sure they didn’t say anything discouraging such a letter—I think it is unlikely they matter at most schools but there are a handful of schools where it may help a very small amount.

Ultimately, everyone wants to go to med schools and particularly the best ones. Writing a letter saying that is not going to move the needle most of the time

I agree with the previous posts. I think thank you letters/emails are a nice touch and will never hurt your file.

Letters of intent are a bit more hit or miss and depend on the school. Overall, the letter is unlikely to make a difference after the interview as you already made it past the hurdle of getting an interview. However, if it will make you sleep better at night knowing you did everything you could, go ahead and send it.

LOIs are treated as lies by most Admissions Deans. How would you interpret a nonbinding contract from a desperate candidate???
