So I applied to 6 schools after graduation. During the gap year, I've been just working and waiting to hear back. So far 1 rejection and under review for 5 other schools...no interviews.

Should I apply to post-bacc now even though I'm not sure what's going to happen in the next 6 months?

Also, when should I get the hint that the schools are probably just rejecting me? April?

Stats:

GPA:3.0
DATs: AA 21 PAT 22
lots of leadership and extracurriculars
great recommendations
at least 100 hours of shadowing

Please tell me you've been in contact for each school that you're "under review" at.

Also, I don't see any harm in having a plan B--I actually have one myself. Start looking into post-bacc programs, or even into places where you can do an informal post-bacc. I'm actually doing an informal post-bacc right now, and that was my plan B. That if I didn't get in this cycle, I'd continue taking classes, but then just get the certificate for the post-bacc program if I had time to complete all the courses/units they needed from me.

Don't give up hope yet though. As I tell everybody who asks me about my application cycle, this is a 14-month long, killer cycle. I'd say hold out at least until April, but this is coming from a person who's applying for the first time, but many schools have said they woulda made their decisions by then (if you aren't on a waitlist**).

Good luck! And there's still time!!

Def look into a post-bac. Take a full load of courses for a few semesters and get those 4.0s. If it's the case you have to reapply next year, you would have another semester or so under your belt to add to your GPA/app. Even if you get post-Dec interviews, you will likely be interviewing for waitlist/alternate spots. Good luck!

I actually haven't contacted them except one that emailed me asking what I'm doing for my gap year. I plan on calling all the schools tomorrow and ask what my status is..

any suggestions on what else to say when I call?
