So I didn't get accepted anywhere for this fall. Have started my CAAPID application for the next cycle. But what is everybody else in my position doing with their time. I am working 3 days a weeks with a general dentist. Other than that I was considering a Masters in public health or epidemiology but deadlines for those have also already passed. I guess I should have applied for those the same time as I did my CAAPID app instead of waiting to see if I got in or not. What's done is done. I would like to do something in an academic environment though. Any ideas?

hello anshaikh...even i am in the same situation...r u done with part 2???? if not try 2 give it..if s buy instruments and practise for bench test at home.

Was seriously considering taking part 2. Instead I would rather take a year of a public health or epidemiology degree. I was wondering if anybody has any other ideas about which university courses or certificates would be beneficial. I guess I kind of want to get started on my backup in case I don't get in next year either. My NBDE 1 score is only an 82. Thats really the weak link. GPA is 3.7. So I was thinking that even if I don't get in next year I have one year of a two year program completed, so in one more year I would have a degree that I can start looking for a job with. Not dentist money, but hey, I'm going to need to support myself.

if u r looking for a back up in-case international programs don't go your way, then u can consider DPH - Dental public health. I know quite a few people who got RDA certificates and worked as dental assistants while waiting to get into d school - u won't have to go thru 1-2 yrs study and the experience u gain will only help in your d school application.

Hey , this idea looks sound... i would like to know about whole process.... i mean how do , and where do we apply for this....??? can you pass on some detailed info on this???
