mostly update them on your extracurricular activities, including how many girls you've had since the update.

I did a lot of these update letters when I was on those damn waitlists....there really is no exact formula, but what I did was basically when I had something to report i.e. I joined a volunteer program to help raise money for kids with AIDS, or I finished a class and received my grade for it, etc, etc., I sent the school(s) an update letting them know about what I did. I included background info, when I started and finished. If you want and if it applies, you can briefly mention how this particular activity has affected you, how it is related to medicine, and how the activity will help you once you become a med student or doctor in the future. Be brief and to the point; dont make it too long. **This is important: Make sure you mention that you are still very interested in attending that school and that you hope to receive an acceptance for this coming Fall. Schools see that enough times, and they will know you are def interested, and that you are putting forth an effort to make sure they know that. Another tip is to try and get the name of the Dean of Admissions to the school, and address the letter to him. It makes the letter a little more personal, rather than just addressing it to the Admissions Office. That's pretty much what I did, and it worked! The best of luck to you!
