What type of personality do y'all have?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Are you asking for one of the 16 personality types, or...?

That's an interesting question...

Some days I feel like an extrovert and others I feel like an introvert. It really depends on if I'm having a good day or not. For the most part I can say that I am an extrovert. I'm pretty social-able and I enjoy being around other people.

INTJ-A describes me pretty accurately.

I'd also say I am a Capricorn through and through but idk anymore since they changed it and suddenly I'm now a Sagittarius 🤔

Yep agreed; people really can behave differently based on the individual situations they experience.

Congratulations. Just looked it up, pretty rare combo 🙂. According to their website, only 0.8% of the population has the same personality as you (INTJ Personality (“The Architect”) | 16Personalities)

Your post motivated me to take the test (never took it before). This is awesome.

I've changed a bit since when I took the test in high school but I got INTP back then.

Just looked this one up too - it says you're heavy on logic, which I think describes you pretty well based on what I've seen you post. Also, you're rare too! Only 3% of people in the world have your type of personality.

So I just took some test on 16personalities. ESTP-A. Maybe I should have gone to business school? lol

Thanks! Just took it again and got INTP-A

Whenever i do personality tests i always get ENTP. Nowadays i feel like my personality has changed a little bit, but no matter what i always receive ENTP lol.

I take the Myers-Briggs test almost once per year and I always get so nervous. But somehow, it never changes. INFJ-T

I still have my 16Personalities results saved from last June. The percentages moved a little bit, but the end result was exactly the same. :shy:

Well personality by definition is enduring so I think for most adults, barring any drastic unforeseen circumstances, it would probably stay the same for the most part.

Good point. I don't know why I'm so neurotic about this? I worry that I might have changed or that I don't know myself well. Personality/identity is like a "blob" to me.

For students applying to dental school, and those D students applying to residency..... how would you feel about taking a personality profile as part of the admissions process. There is a well known study out of UMinn which details personality profiling of med students in Europe over several years and correlates results with clinical success. This thought of administering a profile has been tossed around at ADEA several times. Comments?

It is an interesting idea but I think applicants would quickly learn what personality types they are looking for and answer the questions falsely to steer towards those desired personalities.

If only education was not so expensive or demanded commitment starting at least high school. Can't imagine devastation of someone getting rejected based on personality, after they spent all those money and were ready for school. Testing should be done sometime in middle school, otherwise people would just find a way to make themselves look better on the profile and it would be useless anyway
On the other hand profiling may be discriminatory and we all should have equal opportunities

Yea that's why you have plenty of people who don't care about patients in medicine or a lack of people serving in underserved areas. Although this doesn't really hinder procedures and you can still be a good doc.

same why I chose dental over med. Unconventional in my circle.

Yeah I know that game; I am surrounded by about 30 pre-med students in all of my classes. I knew one girl going for dental but she gave up and switched majors.

Yep. Not even in my college only. Almost everyone in my HS did premed too if they were prehealth. One person told my family it would be a waste of my intellect to do dentistry which is a pretty dicky thing to say. And I don't consider myself intellectual at all so idk wtf she was saying

Take it as a compliment lol

I just did it and I got ESTJ-A aka "The Executive". Sounds about right lol

It really should tell us what personality types to date so we can just save ourselves the time and heartbreak. "Hey, I'm INTJ. And you are"? "ESTP"? "Shoot. Not meant to be, but you are cool though" "Aww, okay. Bye" "Bye". Voila.

The new tinder

After seeing a mention of the Meyers-Briggs scroll down the live feed, I feel compelled to inform everyone here that the measure is absolutely garbage from a psychometric standpoint, no real reliability or validity to speak of. Just a marvel of marketing. Good day 🙂

Idk man, I'm reading through this and I'm sh*tting bricks about how accurate it is. Especially the Relationships/Career sections lol

It's the same reason people swear by fortune tellers, they just couch things that everyone experiences in a certain way to make it feel like it's uniquely speaking to you. There is a huge body of literature detailing how bad this thing is and how it doesn't map on to anything useful, in addition to having test-retest reliability issues.

Any other VIRTUOSO PERSONALITY (ISTP, -A/-T)? If not, that's okay. I share personalities with Michael Jordan, Bear Grylls, Tom Cruz, James Bond and Indiana Jones so it's all good haha
