What usually leads to a fellowship after omfs residency?

For current omfs residents, what factors are taken into consideration for fellowship?
Experience in the area of work? Pedigree/prestige of program?

For example, if someone wanted to do a head and neck cosmetic surgery fellowship after residency, should they try to attend a 6yr program at a big name school or school with a lot of exposure to cosmetic surgery during residency?

If you want to do a fellowship in cosmetics you need to do a 6 year. Though it’s good to have experience in residency it’s not required (and usually it’s tough to get heavy cosmetics exposure in most residencies)

If you want to do a fellowship in cosmetics you need to do a 6 year. Though it’s good to have experience in residency it’s not required (and usually it’s tough to get heavy cosmetics exposure in most residencies)

If you’re not military your chances at MORS are probably not as good as a 4 year.
