F baby, F...can't beat that!

I never went to class though as I was having a very hard time with a girl and other immature 19 year old stuff.

But ouch! does that hurt now.

If the OP wants to know, how low can you go to get into med school ..... coz grades are huge but one C aint gonna kill anyone if the rest of the application is fine. relax and keep chuggin.

whoops..i choose the wrong one by mistake...i actually got a C+ my freshman year..🙁 dam expository writing!

Lowest grade I ever got was an A. 😀

 psyche just kidding. But honestly, it's baffling that there are actually people out there whose "lowest" grade is an A- or A... 😱

B-

But don't be impressed; I'm consistently mediocre. 😎

B-. Damn you, Biochemistry Lab!

YUP. biochem kicked my butt.

Nope, already got in. I'm just trying to give hope to those applying this cycle.

Dayum..when did pre-meds become so freaking smart? (insert sarcastic/pathetic laugh) I too find it very impressive that some people have indicated that a B is their lowest grade. Wow..good work guys.

3.0 was my lowest grade until junior year.

ZOL 341H - Honors genetics. Frickin' 2.5.

A C in Calculus II & it's FIVE hours yowza, my BCPM felt that one.

4 F's (15 hours) in one semester. They should have been W's. Yeah, that hurt. A. Lot. I was doing fine in the classes too. I was going through a 2+ year legal battle with the financial aid department and a family death didn't help.

I'm spending 8 years in college to make that **** up. I hope I can explain it to the adcoms. 😡

Of course I'm retaking the classes and getting A's, so hopefully they'll look past it.

Whoah! Most people's lowest grade was a B??????

Mine was a D in Calc I freshman year. Ugh. It was evil.

C's in vector calc and mechanics of solids my freshman yr 👎

C in writing (ugh!)

I got one C, in a 5 credit physics course, which really brings down my BCPM GPA! I was the only non-engineering major in the calc based course, then I got married a week before the exam and then I got pneumonia a week after getting married. It was an interesting semester. I managed to pull off relatively good grades in everything else. Before that my lowest grade had been a B, and aside from that my lowest grade was a B. I'll probably always wish I had just spent some more time studying for the dang exam (I was doing fine in the course in general, it was the final that killed me), even if I felt really sick, and that I had taken the time to finish my final lab report. I'm sure I learned from the experience though. It was my own fault and responsibility, and I hope it taught me to work harder even when I don't feel like it.

I have FOUR Cs......and i know people on this forum will probably think i shouldnt even bother applying.....but im doing it anyways......you never know!!!

A--

Worst grade imagineable.

A class a barely went to...it was four days a week at 8:30AM!
I got a D---being five points away from a C, the Professor was a total douche bag! 😡

Do you think those folks looks at their grades at the end of semester and say, "Dammit! I only got an A in Chemistry!"

I failed the same class twice.

B- thanks to Neuro lab. Gay gay gay gay. I mean, I have other B's and all, but that was my lowest. 25 units, all science, taking the MCAT in the same swipe and trying to get a research project published didn't work that bastard spring quarter. Sadly, I know people who attempted much more and came out shining. I on the other hand have some battle scars. Ah well, 'tis life.

Also, those who have C's and lower due to life problems, now that just isn't fair. Thankfully you get a chance to explain yourself if that is a fluke, but seriously, teachers should be a bit more understanding sometimes.

B in Anal Chemistry. I did not like it. 😡 I could've gotten an A if I had been motivated that semester, but I was just not feeling it at all. That was seriously my ADD semester. I'd sit down with a book for half an hour and get bored and go do something else.

Anal Chemistry  Not a fan of those rectal exams?

It's called anal chem at my school too.

Analytical chem.

Yeah, 3 C's here all in science (C's in O Chem I and Cell Bio and C+ in Genetics), but my GPA's still good (3.6 overall, 3.3 sci) and I'm applying this cycle. They were all the in same term, and I had a lot of stuff going on. Do y'all know if once you give your reason for stuff like that, whether or not they keep asking you about it? I was under the impression that once you get an interview, your grades have been determined to be OK, and they are now focusing on getting to know you as a person.

C in Organic I, C+ in Cell Bio. Deserved every last drop of it too! But sci GPA still OK, ~3.45. Got an A in Organic II.

C- : 1st sem. frshman yr gen chem.. I went in thinking I was the biggest baddest freshman. Then Dr. Weidiger and Dr. Hutchinson (the greatest prof) broke me down. Man....that was the first and last time I ever cried over a grade.

C Calc I (of all classes, I loved math...) - was not hard, but I could not handle everything that I was involved with as a freshman in my first semester.

Well, I thought I could manage the varsity girls basketball team, travel 24/7 with them (hey I did get a free trip to Hawaii, NC, South Texas, Northern Cali, and Arizona out of it, and a boat load of experience), take 4 science classes as a freshman, and still pull off a damn good GPA. Hell I even got a C in P.E. that semester (and I was a varisty athelete in high school). Omg that sucked....so much I was ready to transfer!!! But things got muuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuch better.

Oh no a B! barf.

and? I didn't say that I was disappointed with my GPA, but I answered the OP, and I commented that I hate analytical. Quit whining.

Wow, I'm surprised at the kids with Bs as the lowest grade. I got a couple of Cs during college and still got into one of my state schools.

I'm confused, are you a man or a woman?

Never mind, I saw in your profile -- how lucky are you being able to travel with the ladies 😎

(Almost) anything is fair game for interview questions. They can still ask you why that semester was bad, face to face, and maybe they might ask for you to elaborate... If what you say is different from what you wrote in your PS or elsewhere, or otherwise sounds shady, I think that could pose some problems...

I write this because I've read some of the accounts given by the "med school interview" database that sdn maintaints, and I remember coming across one person who wrote that their interviewer had asked for an explanation for his C's in chemistry...

and of course, my two lowest grades (both C's) just happen to be in chemistry... haha but I'd still be pretty happy with an interview for a chance to talk about it! 😀

I think we both know who was whining. Seems like you're always posting things like this.

Yes, it was cool

F - Honors chem. I had taken temporary leave from my senses -- didnt take the final, which results in an automatic F, but all my grades sucked that sem. Had I not come in on full scholarship with a 103 weighted grade average and a 1310 SAT, UConn would have stuck to their initial resolve to dismiss me...but they were merciful & gave me another shot. I took regular chem for an A.
My transcsipt varies from a 1.2 to a 3.98. I made deans list 4 times and did well for the most part but had two extremely funky semesters. I pulled the freshman 1.2 up to a 3.1 by graduation. I applied and got 5 interviews and got into med school right out of undergrad.
To put things in context though, I also had a baby and took ZERO time off, had lots of extracurriculars (writing tutor, pres. of 1 club, founder and pres. of Minority Assoc. of Premeds @ UConn, technical writer, volunteering/shadowing, speak spanish, etc.) My MCAT was a 27s -- took it permaturely & taught myself 2/3 of the physics.
By now you know I am also a URM (Jamaican and cuban) -- if you want to chalk it up to that, fine by me, but I worked friggin hard and my circumstances were extenuating in ways I do not care to detail on this post or even on an application of any kind.
AND my advisor didnt send my REC letters out till January (he told me he had in november!) Def. a blessing and a miracle that things worked out.

I got an N (incomplete) in genetics. It was senior year, I was overloaded by work and school, and did not need the class to graduate. So I never bothered to take the final. Meh.

B-, freaking HUMAN VIOLENCE! It was supposed to be an easy class (took it first semester freshman year) but the first test was the same day as my first chem test. Studied like hell for the chem test and got a 97. Got a C- or something on the human violence test and since there are only 2 tests in the entire class it sucks. Atleast I brought it up to a B-. I wonder if this means im a violent person.

And I thought it would be a fun class. It wasn't.
