What were your Worst Grades??

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I made a C in Precalculus. Oh, not because I am bad at math. I am fairly good at it, actually. However, I hated my professor with fiery passion. She was completely insane, so I rarely went to class. She started CRYING during our final. Yes, bawling at her desk for no apparent reason. No one called her and gave her bad news. She just had a mental breakdown. Obviously, it is hard to concentrate with such madness going on. Oh well, one C is not going to kill me.

ugh...so long ago and it still hurts

C- first semester gen chem
C in 1st semester calc
C in Lifetime Physical Activity (P.E.)...and I was a varsity athelete in high school.

When I saw that C in P.E. of all courses it confirmed that something else was going on in my mind that first semester...WHO GETS A "C" in P.E.

happened first semester freshman year...still bitter even though I did fairly well in all my other pre-reqs

C in Physics
C+ in Bio 101

I blame both on the pathetic professors we had 😡 and of course, me for not dropping the class sooner and waiting to take them later since I was already well over my head during first semester in the post-bac.

Medical terminology.

Yes, everyone knows many medical terms are latin based, but those words aren't covered in introductory latin courses. And knowing all the conjugations of all the verb classes, all that grammar that was the focus of 90% of that class, isn't going to help at all with medical terminology.

haha . . . i have a couple C's. One in Shakespeare, one in Metalworking and Jewelry. one in some anthro 101 class i took during my first semester. my total UG gpa is just under 3.5.

I was an art major and didnt care about my grades, and those classes in my opinion were pretty useless. hopefully adcoms will agree. I dont think ive gotten lower than a B in any BCPM courses so that average should be higher (haven't taken em all yet but if i do well should be 3.6+) That matters, right?

Freshman year
B in Calc 1
B- in Calc 2
B- in Chem 2
Summer
C in Physics 1
C+ in Physics 2

i really hope these don't hurt my chances in the long run 🙁 especially since they are prerequisites

F....in english (who cares?)
retook for B+
all else was great

History of Africa turned out to be my downfall. I only got back one grade in the class -- the week before finals. Turns out it was a C.

Who knew?

(still makes my blood boil to think about that class.)

C+ in the first semester of Gen. Chem. lab. Didn't hurt my GPA, since it's only 2 credits. Pulled off an A- next semester.

B+ in Wester Political Heritage

I hate philosophy.

B- in gen chem I & gen chem II

A- in Intro to speech/communications
A- in Jazz, Pop and Rock (ha!)

Too make this a bit more fair I would advise posting how many semesters everyone is into school. It is not too hard to pull straight A's as a freshman in 101 classes much more difficult once you make it to your junior year 😉

an F in one of my calc classes.😱

I did very well in both midterms but I had to miss the finals for personal reasons. since I did so well on the midterms and practically had perfect hw score, I was hoping it would average it out to a final grade of C but the math dpt at my university has a very strict rule about missing the finals (automatic F).

F in Business Calculus but till the day I die I will swear I never took that class. I have no idea why the community college put it on my record! I took Calc III and Diff EQ and Aced them both! Damn you Community College! I still had a 3.8 BCPM though 🙂

F in Business Calculus but till the day I die I will swear I never took that class.

i maintain that during my freshman WTF CC year that dug me a hole in sciences of all subjects.

C+..organic 2 lecture. Average was a 54.

B is Social Science. I HATE Philosophy of Science! All of my other profs love Kuhn though, but I hope he is burning down there...

B in Physics Lab... I hate lab classes.

Two Fs in the same low level Intro to Physics class. All As in advanced physics and relativity. May come up at every interview.

F in Astrophysics but I was homeless for half the semester haha

B- Evolution. 110 kids in the class. Teacher had tenure and she was leaving the next semester. She only gave out 1 A. 1 A.

Tests made no sense at all. Lectures were a ramble. Office hours were worthless. Lots of my other pre-med friends were stunned when they got their grade back.

How the hell is genetics, ochem, physio, gchem, harder then evolution? That was beyond me.

Not a very memorable time for me >.<

C+ in A&P and a C in Orgo II. Not going to blame my profs for any of that although my A&P prof did move really fast. I was taking too many difficult classes the semester that I took A&P and I just didn't have 3 hours of time to put into studying it every night. Orgo II was just kind of a lost cause since most of the exam questions were retrosynthetic crap and not a lot of mechanisms (I <3 mechanisms).

I made a C+ in precalc because my professor was a jerk. My final average in the course was EXACTLY a 79.97 and the jerk would not give me a B-.

I made a C in Calculus-that was an engineering course where the class average heading into the final was a 43-thats crazy.

Anyhoo, it didnt make such a dent because I got into one of my top choices for medical school this year. During my interview, I told my interviewer about my precal professor and he told me that I should get accepted just because that professor was so stupid and such a stickler.lol.

F in Multivariable Calculus, because I decided not to go to class for some idiotic reason thinking I could skate by, which retrospectively makes me want to punch myself in the crotch.

B in Quantum Mechanics.

That's pretty shocking.

Back when I was a music major and had no intention of going to med school, didn't care about school, completely unhappy etc... I had a 2.8 with plenty of Cs, a couple Ds and a couple Fs (hardly any science classes during that period luckily). Now that I'm a bio major I have a 3.88 over the past 2 years and As in all the med school prereqs. My math/science gpa is a 3.57 including the ****ty gen chem and calc grades I got freshman year. I retook both semesters of gen chem and got As. My cumulative is probably gonna be around a 3.2 (haven't calculated it yet)

B+ in 3rd quarter Quantum Chemistry

C in calculus first year (got to 79 before exam and then the exam was meant to bring the mark down...i totally bombed the exam, and now i miss math after not taking any math for a year)

C+ in general chem first year (worse prof ever!)

C+ in orgo I

B- in first quarter Physics. I hate physics class. I love learning physics, but the class sucks.

F in Perisan 2 while studying in London, apparently their language classes are a bit more intense than the ones stateside because I got an A in Persian 1 =P

I've had a few B's...one of which will annoy me until the day I die:

I got a B in OChem II Lab. The policy for the OChem labs here is normalized grading, so as to balance between "easy" and "hard" TAs. My class's average was a 95, I had an 89. Average was set to a B+. Everyone got screwed in that class.

Oh well. Fortunately it was only one credit.

I got a C+ this last Fall in Physics, hardest class I've taken so far (just ended sophomore year). Kind of bothers me, but overall I really don't care.

D in Organic Chem I. The first time I took it. Didn't do much better the second time, but I tell ya, the third time's the charm!
👍

Hey guys, just remember that when we're doctors, none of this will even matter 🙂

I have a C- in a prep chem class (Pre-req) for general chemistry during freshman year.

Actually, as soon as I get into med school at all, none of my undergrad grades will ever matter again! I sooooo can't wait for that. :soexcited:

LOL...had to reply to this thread...

B+ in Badminton

For me, it was math. I hate math... the two C+ grades that I received in Calculus II and Calculus-Probability & Statistics killed GPA's. I hate you math.
