Hey y'all,

A little hypothetical question here. Let's assume you are accepted somewhere on Dec 1st. Stoked, right?? Of course you are. But the school that you really love isn't going to interview you until a couple weeks later -- mid Dec. and you know you won't hear from them until after the deadline to respond to your acceptance. You only have 45 days. Do you turn down the acceptance and hold out for the other school that you really really love? Do you submit a deposit and just get prepared to eat it if you get into the other school? Or do you just realize how fortunate you are to be going ANYWHERE and withdraw your other apps? Afterall, saving 400 bucks not having to fly to this other interview would buy a lot of nice celebratory booze.

I'd eat the deposit since you'll make millions during your career as a dentist.

I agree, even the one thousand dollar deposit is nothing in the grand scheme. Especially if your dream school is 75,000 dollars cheaper. You come out a head by 74,000. (not including travel cost)

You would be a damn fool to trade an acceptance for just a shot somewhere else when you can have both.

I am kind of in the same boat, I interview at Boston in Feb. I just wish they would realize how many great students they are missing out on by being so late in the game.

What if your dream school is $75,000 more, and you are waiting on your state school that is dirt cheap in comparison???? This would likely be my scenario...in the hypothetical world of interview=acceptance predictability. I hope I don't have to deal with this scenario. But like I said all long, I wish one school would accept me, and all the others would reject me at the same time, then I don't have to make a decision!🙂

Still pay the deposit and be prepared to go there ... or bite it.
