If I plan on taking Social and Ethical Values in Medicine next year since it doesn't fit into my schedule this year, should I take Introductory Psychology? Does taking Intro Psy have any benefits for med school? Or, should I just take Ethics and not Soc and Eth Values in Med at all? 😕 Thanks! 🙂

I think the social and ethical values in medicine sounds like a good class to take. Some of the themes that you will be introduced to will probably be revisited during your journey through medicine. I think it is important to start thing about these things early.

On one of my interviews I was asked what was one of my favorite non-science classes and I mentioned a medical sociology class that I really enjoyed. I remembered some of the issues discussed in the class and we ended up talking about it for quit a while. A similar question came up on some secondary applications.

I took intro to psychology but only for a graduation requirement. It took it so long ago that I don't think it has benefited me in this process, but if you are interested go for it.
