Should I transfer to UCLA from UC Santa Cruz? I know i can get straight As in Santa Cruz because my GPA is a 3.93 right now. I don't know if i can get the same grades in LA or possibly Berkeley. So I guess my question is should I stay in Santa Cruz and do well or struggle in LA or Berkeley? Thanks in advance!

lol. there are many classes here where the curve is set at 10% a's. The average test score on my last bio test was 59%. Lol do u really want to come?

Avg biochem at my state school was 62%. No curve.

don't worry about trying to look good coming out of UCLA or UCB. your high GPA at UCSC already looks impressive. the UCs are a strong system and all the UCs are good schools. I even know many people who got accepted into d-schools coming from UCI, UCR, and UCD. good luck!

Only come here if you think you'd enjoy college life better here. Don't come here if you think it will increase your chances of getting into dental school. A's are A's, wherever you're from. Sure, some schools might have a slightly more difficult curriculum or tougher curves. But a solid academic record from any school is what really counts. So if you'd like to spend another 2 years living in Santa Cruz, go for it. Your A's will carry their weight.

upper divs in ucb are not hard. Its the weeder classes, ochem, bio, gchem that are a b---- and a half. I would personally transfer. It helps in apps for jobs and grad school saying u grad from cal.

I would stick around at UCSC and just keep up the good grades. Like it was said, the UC system as a whole is known to be rigorous/challenging, so might as well stay and look good rather than transferring and looking mediocre. You'll be more eye-catching to admissions.

Don't try to fix what isn't broken. Stay at UCSC.

I would base my decision on location. Will you be happier in SC, Berkeley, or LA.
