What's the best way to go about getting your hours verified?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Tell them what to expect. As soon as you send that verification, send an e-mail to your therapist telling them to check their inbox AND their junkbox. Those verifications can end up in someone's trash can. There's not a therapist today who doesn't use e-mail.

Another thing to be cautious about is the therapist's name. I put his full name (daniel) on the form and when he put his name he put 'dan' and even though he submitted it, ptcas didn't recognize it because the names were different.

I'm looking to apply in the 2013-2014 season, can I still get my hours verified now? since I'm completing them now....

you can also print out the verification forms when you apply in ptcas and bring the hard copies to them to sign! I did that because I needed to show them the hours that I've volunteered.

What does the PT see for verification on their end?

When are the hard copies available? What i did was just create my own spreadsheets for them to sign off on each time i shadow with the amount of hours. That way when i log my hours on PTCAS, if they have any questions i can just email them the forms they signed off on.

the hard copies option are in the volunteer verification section of the ptcas when it becomes available. It is the alternative option to doing it via email. It is also very beneficial because when I applied to non-ptcas programs, I just made copies of the signed verification and sent it to the non-ptcas schools to verify my hours.

Which non PTCAS schools did you apply to, if you don't mind me asking?
