Do DO schools have completely different programs? What's the difference in the practic?

One extra course, pretty much.

In all seriousness: Nothing. If you want to do OMM, you want to go DO. If you don't, then either is OK. Just be aware that it might be more difficult to get into ultra-competitive residencies as a DO. Though it's still possible (I know of two neurosurgeons who are DO). You'll just need to rock the boards and do research etc.

Yes, MDs go to traditional medical school. DOs graduate from Osteopathic medical school. These are not interchangeable.

The difference in practice, unless you specialize in NMM/OMM, is not very different at all. Most medical practice is dictated by such things as "clinical guidelines" and "standard of care" and more and more by such things as "insurers" and "the Joint Commission." Of course, there are the omnipresent "lawyers" and "litigious patients" we have to watch out for.

Medical practice is much less practice and much more obeying others and trying to scrape by. 🙁

What does ostheopatic medicine means?

It was a branch of medicine created earlier in the nineteenth century because of dissatisfaction with the unscientific and sometimes harmful milieu of medicine at the time. Now the literal meaning is more of historical significance. Look it up on wikipedia.com.

There are osteopathic neurosurgery residencies, therefore, it's no wonder you will meet neurosurgeon DOs

What does ostheopatic medicine means?

I would encourage you to read through the MD vs DO stickies as well as information about what Osteopathic medicine is all about in the Pre-DO forum. The answers you request can be found there. Thanks.
