Anyone know what's the scoop with Midwestern ?? Do you know if its gonna be a good program or what? Is it worth checking into? I mean obviously you become a dentist if you go there, but is it worth looking into? It looks like the cost is going to be outgrageous!

I am glad to see that everyone has so many thought about midwestern.... Anyone apply there?!!?

All I know is what I read on their website, really. I am applying, and I think it would be great to be in the inaugural class. Brand new facility, kinks to iron out, that sort of thing.

I would LOVE to be in their first class...thats my sort of thing, I AM A LEADER! Then again, I would just love to get in anywhere...😳

I've applied, I recieved and sent out my secondary application and an email told me I was going to recieve a package by mail on how to track my application status online.

Anyone, recieved this by mail yet?

No updates on AADSAS yet.

It's a new school, so things could be rough. I experienced it 4 years ago, so I know.

The Dean is a world-recognized leader in prevention, especially sealants. If you do any sealant research, or read any journal articles, you'll see his name mentioned more than once.

It doesn't bother you guys to be first trial run of students? It seems like you would be the guinea pig if you go there?!?!

i agree with this. seems like the staff would be half concerned with how to IMPROVE the school for next year instead of spending more energy on actually running the program. whereas a school that has been established for many years already has a set routine and the profs/staff can just worry about teaching/research/clinics/etc. *shrug*

i personally think it could be very exciting to be the first class at the school. yes there will be some problems and kinks to work out but hopefully the admin will look toward the students to see how they can improve their program and build a name for themselves. fyi i ended up applying to MWU

See, I actually welcome this. Being somewhat older, I have little problem in speaking my mind (tactfully) about what could be improved or worked on, etc. My ego would love the idea that my input, my successes and failures will have an impact on future classes.
