My username has a double meaning. I love neurology and really enjoyed playing lacrosse in high school. Hockey is my favorite, though.

Also, I have a strong interest in pharmacology. Neurolax sounds like a cool brand name, doesn't it? An anticonvulsant? anxiolytic? Haven't given that much thought.

My avatar is pretty self-explanatory: Go Gators!

...I always wanted to play lacrosse. looks so cool, but I was too far into track, and cross country to make the switch.

I always figured the PR was for Puerto Rico until I thought I read somewhere about native status.

Mine is boring, a pre med with ambitions for gastronterology. Based off of experiences I had over the years with my own ped gastro doc. She was awesome and a big inspiration for me pursuing medicine.

Not sure of a solid avatar yet. Nice pink gi tract? Stool sample? The possibilities are truly endless.

Initially your name led me to believe you're from California (LA). Then you mentioned something about not having seen falling snow and I was sure you were from LA.. Then you said you weren't.

My username has an anecdotal reason... A girl was making cards for her confirmation into her church but gave out cards that read "You are cordially invited to attend ___'s conflagration at ___ Baptist Church."

The avatar I have is because I had a phase of deep interest in ornithology. When I get a laptop, I want to change it to a Litwick, since I'm just starting college. After that, change it to a Lampent for graduate school and Chandelure for when I'm in residency/have a real job. I'm a dork, I know.
 
Hey, so not sure if I'm cool enough to post here but here goes...
My username has always been capazzo22, which is a play of off the Spanish word capo (which in Argentina means stud or cool dude) but shortly after joining SDN I wanted to ask some question anonymously so I created "dudeliness" and I ended up discarding my original self. Strange...
My avatar is just something that I found online. The military guy looks respectable and I though it balanced out my goofy name. Lol

Desmond was my favorite character and he had a phrase that he would always say: See you in another life brotha. Thus, Syialb.

60-was my jersey I always wore playing football.

TF- is my initials.

Ooo I liked Lost. Minus the last 2 seasons. They went crazy complicated in the final few seasons and made random theories.
 
It's a Brindian word for sunglasses. I picked it like four months ago for my XBox Live name.

I was watching lost on campus the other day when someone walked by, and without breaking stride, dropped a note in front of me and just walked off.

The note read: "The entire show ends up all being Vincent's dream"

Haha...Vincent is Walts' dog, pretty funny dude, whoever that random note dropper was.
 
When I was much younger I played an old MMO called Asheron's Call. The game had some catlike critters called Drudges. You could kill 'em and make kitty masks. One day I went on a drudge killing spree and made kitty masks for everyone. The joke became that you had to join my cult in order to get a mask.

Rather than fight it, I renamed my character Drudge Cult Leader, which was later shortened to DCL. I started using it as an online handle and years later some friends tried to pronounce it phonetically to Deekle, and that stuck.

The avatar is a shout-out to one of the mods here, Caesar, who likes to e-stalk SDN users who apply to SIU and figure out who they are. I beat him to the punch an introduced myself to him at my interview day as he was walking by.

My username is pretty self-explanatory if you put a space between yellow and peril. I was in Asian American studies class and I stumble upon SDN while learning about the Chinese history in America. I'm not Chinese by the way.

My nickname was Gambit in college, which I got from being able to come up with some obscure piece of X-Men trivia for a friend. I don't remember what he needed to know or why, but he had posed the question on his AIM away message (part of my college experience predated Facebook).

I had been studying for the mcat around the time I made my profile, and I figured I wanted a scientist's name or famous reaction as my profile name. Diels Alder was the first thing that came to my mind, which is ironic because I barely studied the rxn and I'm not even sure if i've ever seen it on an mcat haha.

and tina fey and liz lemon rock my socks off. so funny!!
 
Ozello is for an amazing cracker town here in Florida where my family has lived for 170yrs. Both children born at home there. PiRat bc everyone from OZ is a pirate but I had to let my geek shine through!

The avatar is the blue eyes of the youngest man I love.

I have so enjoyed all these stories! Took a long break from SDN and now MCAT study is pulling me back.

Mine is from a German-language pop/rock song. It is the last two words of a phrase the means "you just have to want it." I took the song to be all motivational, like I could achieve anything if I wanted it bad enough. Later I realized the lyrics of the song were very sarcastic and meant to be funny. I already had the username.

I hate everything orgo. Biochem did a good job of disguising orgo though, so biochem is cool.

It was the opposite for me. I always hated studying for biochem. I think it was the fact that the professor for biochem had the thickest Asian accent. She was good and knew her stuff but her reviews were the biggest fail.

I loved Orgo but I am kind of disliking Biochem. I like it when I think of the big picture but I hate how things lose carbons and there are no enzymes or anything. I am always like "where did it go?" and it bothers me.

I am studying lipid metabolism as we speak so I am annoyed with the oxidation of unsaturated lipids. This is the cause for this small rant! Forgive me!
 
My username- I like the song "Apples and Bananas" even now, but as a kid particularly enjoyed the opples and bononos part of the song 🙂

There definitely seems to be a gap in level-of-detail between Orgo and Biochem. I suppose it might be interesting to sit down and do the electron pushing for simple enzymatic processes. Well, if I had nothing else to do.

That's precisely what I mean!
I appreciated knowing where everything went in Orgo. It was a lot easier to catch mistakes that way! You know you were doing something wrong when that carbon randomly dropped out.

It consoles me to know others aren't getting this detail either because it was kind of bothering me. I thought about drawing everything out and pushing the electrons but then I saw the pile of structures I still had to memorize and the MSU essay I still had to finish and was like...nah...I will just memorize this, it will probably take up less time that way.
