Keep in mind that after you submit, your app doesn't immediately go to the dental schools. The processing time is loooooooooooooooong. That's why it is so important to get your app in early. The turnaround time takes forever. I submitted in Mid May and my app didn't get SENT to schools until July. Then you have intercampus mail systems and AADSAS must send the apps by carrier pigeons because it takes it forever to get there.

Just make sure you go ahead and collect your transcripts, but I would submit as soon as AADSAS opens, you can take the DAT later, but they send out the applications in batches and you want to be in that first batch they send out.

Are you implying that it is ok for me to have sealed transcripts mailed to me and then I can forward these to AADSAS when I submit my applicaiton? I would like to do this because I already have sealed transcripts on hand but I don't know if these will be acceptable. I posted this question before and most people seemed to think that you had to request from your university that they go directly to AADSAS.

I started looking at this website last spring and there were tons of posts like this and I didn't really see why people were so touchy. Now I completely understand! Two months ago it was business as usual on studentdoc but all of the sudden every other thread is about some very basic aspect of applying to dental school.

Are you implying that it is ok for me to have sealed transcripts mailed to me and then I can forward these to AADSAS when I submit my applicaiton? I would like to do this because I already have sealed transcripts on hand but I don't know if these will be acceptable. You can collect sealed transcripts and send them yourself. I had to do that last year because AADSAS lost my first one and for time's sake I just sent them an extra that I had on hand. If I reapply this year, I'm sending them all in one big packet myself. Not taking chances on out of state transcript orders getting screwed up! Just make sure they're sealed - obviously. 🙂

I can order transcripts from schools, have them sent to my address with my name on it. I leave it in envelope and send it directly to AADSAS in big envelope?
