I am applying for the Fall 2010 incoming class after I get my bachelor's in biology. My pre-health department is encouraging that I take the PCAT as soon as possible but there are only June and August dates for the summer.
I'd rather take the August date, but I don't know if this is becoming late in the application process. Schools' admissions offices aren't being too specific about when they begin reviewing incoming applications so I can tell if August is too late.

Basically, if schools start reviewing applications in June/July and accepting students then, I can't take it in August without lowering my chances somewhat, right? But if schools don't even look at the applications until after August, then it doesn't make a difference if I take the June or August PCAT, I'm guessing and I'd take the later date.

So can I get any help on this? I'm looking to apply to schools in the northeast, east (namely LIU, Rutgers, Albany, Maryland).

Thanks in advance.

If you're applying early decision definitely june.

Otherwise, august isn't too bad.

I would imagine they start reviewing applications not long after they start receiving them. The deadline for the last few years at USC has been 11/1 and the first interview date is in November as well. There's no way they review all 1500+ and send out interview invites on 11/1. My best guess is that they'd start looking at apps 9/1 at the latest and that's only because that's when they finish getting all the new pharm students registered, licensed, and introduced into their new class. Chances are it starts before then.
