I wanted to know at what point background check occurs? I was a very late applicant and was not given any interviews for last cycle. I was wondering if the schools or AADSAS runs the background check before they grant you an interview? or is after you get accepted? I had many debts before and not sure if that affected my application.. According to my understanding background check includes : criminal records, commercial records and financial records!!!

I got my request after I had been offered acceptance. Also, not all schools require it.

i got mine done for 47$. i think you should, it will speed up the process in the end. although, a majority of my schools requested it, so i did it in advanced

What is a commercial record?

record of any properties(real estate) you own or have owned. I think its safe to say most applicants will not have anything under this section.

I'm sure schools are more increased in the criminal part than anything else.

How did you have it done in advance? I didnt get the information of what site to use and what not til after i had gotten accepted.

Overall I got a 20 science...but I applied late december and to only one school. I am retaking DAT though and will apply for next cycle...

yeah,, I think commercial records has to do with any property wich included a mortgage or rental ( for example if you ever were the owner of a deli or restaurant ).. I think ... lol
