I was recently WL at MUCOM. Kind of bummed because I had such a ridiculously awesome (or so I thought) interview there and was shocked to get the WL, but I digress. I am 100% interested in going there and would accept with no hesitation should I be offered a spot off of the WL. How soon can I send one in? I've been told that sending one in too soon seems disingenuous, but I'm not sure why that would be the case.

Don't bother. How would YOU interpret a non-binding contract from a desperate candidate????

My memory is pretty hazy but I'm like 75% sure MUCOM told us during interview day that letters were appreciated. I'm looking in previous year threads and it looks like (possibly) a LOI was encouraged/mandatory for people wanting to come off the WL.

do you have any grades pending? or any significant updates coming?

Nothing worth writing a letter over.

Ahh, I'll have to add that to the "needy school" lost.

Some med schools like to see applicants/candidates grovel, or are needy in that they need to hear how much they're beloved by the candidates.

This has been every school I have interacted with this cycle except maybe one.
