So I have finished sending secondaries out, have been submitting from July through August (done as they came avaliable), I know some people are getting interviews and some people are still being verified, but I was wondering what time frame do we usually see the most interview invites go out? Would later in the year like Sept or Nov be reasonable? Just trying to get an idea of when to get ready for traveling and stuff. Your input is appreciated.

I applied to about 15 MD schools and about 15 DO schools. A large number of DO schools have been in communication with me, whether it's rejections, pre-interview wait-lists, or interview invitations. Only 1 MD school has been in communication with me. I'm not sure how helpful that is, but I guess the message is that MD schools take a lot longer to take action.

I'm not a very competitive applicant, so take what I say with that in mind.
First off, look at the # of applicants they receive and the length of their interview season.
If a school gets about 1000 applicants and interviews Sep-March, you should most likely be hearing back Nov-Dec.
If a school gets 10,000 applicants and interviews Sep-April, getting an II sometime in February, that wouldn't raise any eye-brows.

I think a better question to ask is when to start worrying that you haven't heard anything back concerning interviews yet, and my completely arbitrary designation for that is sometime late January.

FWIW - I'm complete at around 30 schools, got a couple pre-secondary rejections, and one interview invite. This process feels very random.

No, I seem to appear in threads where people repeat common questions. If you would have just searched this question you would have found plenty of answers. That's all I am facepalming about.

And interview season runs September til spring. It's a marathon, not a sprint.

From tomorrow until you receive a rejection notice.

My undergraduate institution sends out a form for us to fill out mid January that asks where we have interviews. Apparently that is the time they have decided it would be least stressful to ask that question...presumably since asking in October would incite panic and tears..
