What do supplemental apps entail, and when are they due etc? Also, when are the earliest interviews? I'm a little lost on this, because I'm going to be applying as early as humanly possible this june, and was going to go abroad around july august september, not sure. If it's way iffy I'm not sure if I should..though I really really wanted to go see my family.

Depending where you apply the earliest interviews begin sometime in August and continue through March-ish (of course you want Pre-December 1st interviews if you can help it).

First of all, it's okay if you don't hit the submit button on your aadsas application on the first day because they usually don't ship out the first batch until the end of June. With regard to the supplements, each school has different supplement requirements. Some only wants your money, while the others would need you to answer a couple questions and etc. They are due as soon as your aadsas gets shipped out, and there's no deadline for your supplements because the schools simply will not process your application until they have everything including the suppl. My first interview this cycle was in mid august, but this was an exception even for the school as I was told by that school's admin that they were "trying some new things" due to an expansion to their program. Usually interviews don't start until Sept. So if you want to travel this summer, do it in july after you finishes your aadsas, (make sure they have your LORs, and transcripts), and completes your supplements. July is really safe to travel.

Look at the interview/acceptance/rejection thread. You'll see when people first started receiving interviews and when they were scheduled.

Check out the AADSAS FAQs link in my signature, too.
