When do I take the MCAT?

When is the proper time to take the MCAT before applying to med school? I am going to be a junior this coming fall, and I was told you apply at the beginning of your senior year. I was planning on taking MCAT courses next summer and taking the MCAT whenever my course was done. Is that too late to be taking it? Any information would be helpful. Thanks.

no, you're right on track! Most people recommend that you apply early, so if you take the test at the end of summer (august), your scores will be released to school in september, and you will be right on time.

It's better for you to do that, then to take the test when you aren't ready and then have to retake it.
