I think at this point of the application season, most interview invites have already been sent out.

I am just wondering when most schools stop since I am planning on going to overseas for a friend's wedding in a few weeks and want to use that as a starting point for traveling over the next few months (until school starts essentially). I see this as pretty much the last chance I have to really travel and backpack. On the other hand, I was worried that I might get an invite in late March or early April and miss out on an opportunity (or spend a ton of money flying back last minute).

I have one acceptance so far (which I am quite satisfied with). Nevertheless, I would love an interview at the UCs or schools in California since I am Californian myself. Plus there are a handful of other schools I would love to interview at as well. Just doesn't seem to likely at this point.

Anyone familiar with the application process willing to chime in?

Some schools still send them out in March but it's pretty unlikely everywhere at this point.

Most schools have finished by now. I would check with the individual schools in your case.

By the end of March, I would completely give up on an II.

There's still schools sending II's, but its not going to be in the large amount as early on in the cycle. But I still see the occasional person in schools sending IIs and some may go all the way until Mid-March in case there are cancellations and as stated in some schools' webstie.

So safe side would be mid March, end of March is kinda pushing it and April is its officially over. Also be aware of schools that interview for waitlists as that might not be worth your time.

You have an acceptance so I wouldn't sweat it. I'd go so far to say that if you don't have an interview invite by end of January for MD schools, it's best to consider how to strengthen your app for reapplication. Four months gives you plenty of time to get your ducks in a row and it isn't too much time lost if you receive a pleasant surprise by February/March.

I'd say the first two weeks of March is probably the latest anyone gets an invite, but there are schools that stop earlier than that.

I just got an interview invite from U of MIami, and I was complete there end of August. They were interviewing through March 31.
I passed on this opportunity, but looks like some school take their sweet time getting around to reviewing apps.

Thanks for the feedback guys.

That is what I suspected. I won't worry about it too much. On the off-chance I get an interview at a school I'm interested in, I'll make decision then. Would never want to miss my friend's wedding (and a chance to travel) for something so remote.

A friend of mine got an II to Wayne State today!

I interpreted this question a little differently when I saw it so I just wanted to add that for me, as an early applicant, my interview invites were coming at one every 1-2 weeks starting in late July and they came to an abrupt halt in mid-September (It did so for a bunch of my peers). My next interview invite was in late January (which led to an acceptance!) but ya, they officially stop in like March/April most schools but before you go to one of those, ask yourself if you really want to go to that school over your alternatives. Also, find out if the school is interviewing for a wait list (some schools like Cincinnati are frank about this) but others are a bit tacit. A good resource would be school specific threads. Good luck!

Depends on when they send acceptances and end their interview season. Like others have said, most schools are done.
